Hmm... could it be that some ATI drivers/cards are affected..? A few people also get similar crashes, and they have Vista and ATI cards as well.

My problem is slightly different, but running Vista too : I have installed the Team 17 beta update, and now I can play (I couldn't before ... it could be your problem), but it does not save. I lose every time profiles and any evolution...... Do I have to do something to allow the game to save on my computer (could it be Vista's firewall?)

Mlorps: Try running as an administrator (right click run as administrator)

ssj4androi: Sadly, intel graphic chipsets for vista don't have any directdraw compatible drivers. This means that all 2nd gen worms games (w2, wa and wwp) don't work. You have 4 options:
Bug intel for a new vista graphics driver
Wait for wa 4.0 which will remove the need for wa 4.0 (not any time soon)
Downgrade to xp
Get a computer/gpu that doesn't have intel graphics chipsets.

And What about the ATI Graphic drivers ?

ATI Graphics Drivers on XP seem to work just fine for me. I don't know about them on Vista.

My Vista has an NVidia Geforce 7500 LE. I just updated to ForceWare version 163.69 and Worms Armageddon works great. I had to manually download the ForceWare driver's from Nvidia's website.

I'm using vista too, with a Dell (Laptop) and an ATI radeon X1270. The game all seems to work except for one thing ; I get all colors messed up (like if i was in 8 bits colors) except if I run the game in 640*480 and sometimes I even get black screens (the game doesnt freezes though, I can click on buttons and all even if I dont see them).

Someone knows how to fix this ?

Do as they say, download the latest catalyst drivers, mod them, and install them. I have a Mobility 2600HD, and it would not work with older games until I stumbled upon this site. Everything works great now.

After many await I finally found the issue:

The problem actualy underlining was:

The HP drivers that I had downloaded from HP software update site seemed to be faulty.

I have search the net and after a couple of days now found that the problem was HP drivers itself.

Even though they supply the "same" drivers for product as ATI, I actually found the correct drivers on a Gamer site. Odd but I have loaded those drivers and halleluya! It works!!!

For some odd reason the ATI drivers from HP clashed with worms, the ATI drivers I found on this site (link above), works 100% fine ... and all is in order now!

i cant get worms to work on my gateway laptop with vista...when i start it up it says errorlog.txt and i dont know how to get it to work...ive tried to download different things but nothing seems to work...any suggestions?

First of all, if you have an Intel video chipset, then you're out of luck.
If not, posting the ERRORLOG.TXT file will help us narrow down the cause of the problem.
