Why is it so hard to find people who want to play a Normal game? Also when I host a game nobody can connect to me, why is this?

Is there anyway to have a separate room from Anything Goes for people who just want to play Normal, annoying seeing so many rope/shopper/W2W games.

Rant over:D

...and the irony here is that too many people are complaining about that the new Worms: Open Warfare 2 has too many normal matches, and not enough rope/shopper/W2W games.

Galway eh. I'm from Derry!

Any reason why people are not able to connect to me when I host a game?

Curny, you already can join another channel for normal games. the problem is getting other people to go to that channel too.

Very nice people in that Clan and a nifty Open League.

i've never actually been able to find a regular game on wormnet, on either armageddon or wwp, ive logged on countless times with no parter to play with hoping to find a random game, join some game with a nondescript name, and never is it anything near a regular game

is it just all wormnet players are hardcore regulars so jaded with the game only shopper and wxw game prove interesting?

i think its just the time you have to wait during other peoples turns in a normal game that annoys people.

Doesn't make sense to me because most random shoppers have 4 or 5 people in them. And the same turn time.

intermediate has 45 sec turns.

yakuza

intermediate has 45 sec turns.

But you said normal which can be understood as default (elite, wormsam, wormspro, intermediate), which in average have about the same turn time. Even though it's irrelevant as your assumption is still inaccurate as 3 or 4 30s turns are still more than 1 45s turn.

4 or 5 people in a normal game with 45 sec turns (the default intermediate scheme) is longer then 4 or 5 people in a shoppa scheme which by default has a 30 second timer.

You're such a kid sometimes, I bet you sat there infront of my post thinking "oh em gee how can I counter argument his statement?". I'm sorry but the intermediate game i played, essentialy, by two players, so there you go.
Whatever the reason though it surely isn't that extra 15 seconds per turn people hate, it's the fact that they've played intermediate all this time in a hotseat enviroment with their friends and pals, on a casual level, and when they arrive to wormnet and see worms flying around the map with a rope collecting crates that might contain bananas they find that ninja, and everyone likes ninjas, so they get into it because it's something new to them.

You're both as bad as each other

In fact when you two get into an argument you blend together and appear to be the same person arguing with yourself for the sake of it

Wow, you actually managed to type a whole post for your complaint, I was expecting that overused emote of yours, you know, the one you spam with when you don't like a thread, instead of, I don't know, ignoring it?

if theres 4 players then time 15 by 3 and you'll see that you dont wait just an extra 15 seconds, and that doesnt take into account people thinking longer before they move thus turn timer starts counting on peoples turns generally later then in a shoppa)

I wouldn't mind a game of Intermediate sometime, Curny. I use the nickname NogardDerNaerok on WormNet1. You could also come say Hi to the IRC channel from my Location line, there's a few oldies in it that might want to tag along.

Personally I prefer Elite over Intermediate [they're more or less the only two default schemes still being played, unless you count BnG], but I don't mind the other at all. Especially for fun games where the outcome isn't too important.

Just uninstalled WA because:

Everytime I would join a normal game the guy would ask "Are you a PRO? Don't lie to me plese!" and kick everyone else to have a 1 vs 1 match. Or the first person to commit a single mistake in game, the host would yell "NOOB!" and then the he would disconnect and end the game. And I didn't even play shoppa or proper or wxw games at all. Not to mention that I had had to change my location a couple of times to prevent myself from being kicked from country only rooms lol.

On the other way around, if I was hosting, players would come and ask "Is this shoppa?" "host wxw plz" or "shoppa plz", and then leave. Else, if I named the room "shoppa or wxw" it'd fill up with players in 10 seconds and the somebody would say "kick XXXXXx, he's a noob" lol.

Somebody sweared at me when i quit! and i had to quit. People call me a NOOB as well when i do a mistake. And when i joined a match for Pro's only somebody asked me are you a pro? don't lie. I mean, we don't have to be a pro to join a normal game do we?
Normals game are not very popular. WXW's and Shoppas are. If you uninstalled the game because you didn't like the normal games then i could play you. I wouldn't swear at you and cool you a NOOB for making a mistake.

But you do have to be a pro if you are joining a game titled "Pro's only", because quite obviously, this person wants to play against a pro.

Its silly though. I am extremely angry that not much normal games are hosted. Everyone thinks shoppa and wxw are the best. But they are not. They suck.

That's a matter of opinion. In most of the "Intermediate" (normal) games I have played, my opponent was totally useless. Sometimes, the host would even add super powerful weapons like banana bombs with infinite ammo, so the game would be way too easy. (In one intermediate match I played, the host was stoned on weed, so he would take about 10 - 15 seconds to do something like fire a rope or select a weapon.) Some of the funnest games I have played were Shopper games.

Normal games are my favourite:)
Normal games are very hard to get online. People just keep asking host wxw or host shoppa

join the "normal no newbs" clan then

they love normals

Dario
22 Nov 2007, 22:42
We do, but we won't take any noob in there, as the clan tag states ;) .
Anyway, I obviously can't help posting something here, just wanted to say that normals (and specially Intermediate) are somehow similar to bungee race in the fact that, if you have no idea how the thing works, you will find it completely boring and luck based. But once you start knowing how worms fly and bounce it gets much more entretaining.

And yes, people will always be asking for wxw and shoppa over other schemes, because those are 2 of the simplest (but still fun) ways of playing this game.
