Hi,

My Vista crashes when I try to load this. Does anyone else have similar problems?

Cheers

Have you downloaded and installed the latest Beta patch for Worms Armageddon from http://wa.team17.com ?

If so, what are your system specs, particularly your graphics card.

Hi,

I just tried the patch and get a 'no-cd' error.

I think I did this already - oops.

Do you have a legal version of the game?

Do you have a legal version of the game?

Ordered it from the Website for £5.99 - Only just got new PC with Vista though and don't know my **** from my elbow.

Hi,

Yeah. Does it make a difference? ta

Hmm. I have some ideas of what may be going on:

1) Your CD is damaged. Unlikely that you're able to install the game from the CD but not play with the same CD.
2) There is an yet-unheard-of rare bug in W:A, possibly related to Vista, that makes W:A not detect the CD in the drive on your configuration. Unlikely as it hasn't happened before to anyone.
3) You're lying or are misinformed, and you're using an illegal copy. This has happened a few times before, when users of pirated copies attempted to use the official forums to "troubleshoot" their no-CD "problems".

I will not jump to conclusions and label you a pirate just from statistics. Please run the following command, substituting the letter W with the drive letter for your CD-ROM drive where you have the W:A CD inserted:cmd /C dir /S W:\ > C:\filelist.txtThen, please compress and upload the file filelist.txt from your C: drive.

Oh, and what is your graphics card?

cyber, I think the no-cd error is from installing the patch twice.
Try installing the update, not the patch

I've uninstalled it again and reinstalled it. It says again - Windows has stopped working. So I downloaded the latest patch and now it says its encountered an error and a log has been created.

PS. I will post a photo of the game box with me with it if I need to prove its legal

Upload the error log (ERRORLOG.TXT in your game folder).

Does the fact that i have an intel graphics card mean i won't be able to run this game ever on my vista laptop?

I had the no cd problem after patching, then installed the beta thing, turning the problem into one documented in my errorlog..... please help

Unfortunately, yes, unless Intel fixes the problem in a driver update or until 4.0 comes out (not any time soon). We can't easily implement a work-around because we don't own the hardware in question, and thus can't reproduce the problem.

oh.... so annoying, now i have to stick with worms two, or buy a 3d version, and they all suck..... Thanks anyway,

So the Beta update detects if you don't actually have a physical CD? Because I got W:A for Christmas when I was like 11, and before I left for college I made ISOs of the CDs for games I play so I wouldn't have to worry about losing stuff. If I want to play W:A on Vista I need the beta, and if I want to play the Beta I can't use an ISO?

PS: There is nothing illegal about ISOs if you have the actual game that the image is of.

Double PS: Okay nevermind, I have the stupid Intel chipset, none of this will work anyway.

What? No.

ISO files work perfectly well, it's just a good idea to create them from a working disc yourself rather than download them from possibly fishy websites that allow anyone to upload anything and call it anything, no matter how hampered it may be to cut down on the file size.

Bad luck with the Intel graphics, though. I wonder whether they'd fix the drivers if enough people moaned about WA not working on their forums.

i guess. lets organise a mass moaning on their forum, i'm also annoyed about pirates of the caribbean not working with my intel chipset. i'll make a new thread.

I am totally for this. W:A and WWP can't be the only games people with Vista are trying to play that use DirectDraw.
