View Full Version : What to do when a girl doesn't like you?

FutureWorm

I've been pretty much in love with a girl in my chemistry class. She's incredible, but she never seemed to look my way. She is pretty cute, and I like her a lot. So I thought maybe I could get her interest by building a website, you know, professing my love. So I sent her a message over AIM one day telling her to click this link: http://evo.gelatinous.net (a subdomain of www.gelatinous.net, a site which I own jointly with Pickleworm). I thought it would be a worthwhile, and hopefully "cute", sort of thing to do. Yeah, the design is kind of old-fashioned, but I wanted it to be that way so that it would seem more personal.

It seems I was wrong. The next day at school, she called me a "creep", and said that I should stay out of her life forever. If I ever try to come near her, she gives me a dirty look or just ignores me altogether. I've tried so hard to get her back, but it looks like it's just not going to happen.

Has anyone else had an experience like this? I'm just so bummed.

That is a bit weird, Ben. I'm not sure I'd be very happy about someone professing their undying love for me to everyone on the web when I don't even know them properly. It's a little over the top. You don't want to scare her in to giving you a restraining order or anything, know what I mean?

I've just read the website, and I don't know why everyone is being so negative. You've made a nice, romantic gesture and she should be flattered that you wish to devote 30.12 KB of your precious webspace to her.

Now ive never been in a situation like this and I'm only 13 so i'm probably not worth taking any advice from but judging by this girls reactions to you, it might be worth just dropping it and moving on.
Just a thought. Although i'm probably not the one to say as explained before, Maybe I should keep quiet.

EDIT: I looked at that website and thought "No. just no."

No, what I reccomend is removing that depressing blargle and replacing it with "Call on me - Eric Prydz"! Now THAT'S how you get someone to fall in love!

In fact, playing that song while watching that website has already made me fall a little that Trixie fellow myself!

Has anyone else had an experience like this? I'm just so bummed.
As a matter of fact, I recall a similar incident a few years ago. I had a very close relationship with a female AIM user; it went on for a couple of months during which we shared photos, poems and countless wonderful knights in the dungeons of grind-heavy Korean MMORPGs.

I figured I couldn't take it anymore so I finally confessed. The results couldn't have been better; turns out she felt the same. Long story short, we planned to meet in real life. She looked slightly different compared to her AIM display pictures which, as it turned out, have been digitally altered. But that was okay; she was still the best thing that ever happened to me, and the lack of lens flare and lighting filters didn't change that. The days that followed were truly the best moments of my life; we experienced countless unforgettable things. If only things could've stayed that way.

One day, I went to her place with a box of pocky and a 'Hello Kitty'-brand vibrator. I didn't call her beforehand, since I planned to surprise her. I had a short talk with her parents and eventually reached her room upstairs. After opening her bedroom door, I was treated to the most confusing and shocking image I had ever seen: The love of my life, wearing a fursuit modeled after Slippy Toad from the Starfox series of video games, cheerfully humping a plush doll of Fox McCloud, while surrounded by countless pornographic furry posters. Unbirthing, transgender, yaoi.. that room was filled with all of my worst nightmares, and the only girl I had ever cared for was in the middle of it all. I had mixed feelings of shock, fear and hatred. As if possessed, I reached for the small butter knife I had in my pocket. I rushed to her and slit her throat, ending her life with little pain and suffering. I then lit her room on fire and ran out crying and screaming "YIFF IN HELL!" as loud as I could as the flames engulfed the cursed furry mutant household, eventually killing her parents.

It wasn't long until the authorities found out; it was only a matter of time until they came after me. Figures; they were obviously too shallow to understand the furry menace. My deed was all over the news, and I was the main suspect. That's when my beloved mother got scared and said, "You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air." I whistled for a cab and when it came near, the license plate said "FRESH" and it had dice in the mirror. If anything I could say that this cab was rare but I thought "Nah, forget it, yo homes to Bel-Air!" I pulled up to the house about 7:00 or 8:00 and I yelled to the cabby, "Yo homes, smell ya later!" Looked at my kingdom, I was finally there, to sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel-Air.

Well I think what you should have done was get to know her slowly instead of making a website giving away everything, that probably creeped her out because it was just to soon. besides if she acted mean to you then your better off without her. I would recomend saying sorry and offering to start over.

Plasma, for someone who has an online girl-friend, you're being pretty mean about this.

FutureWorm, my advice is to talk to her about this. Explain to her that you may have over reacted, and went over board a little bit. After you do that, make sure you show her that you have lots of money, and then start making promises that you don't intend to keep. That will at least get you two talking in person. ;)

One day, I went to her place with a box of pocky and a 'Hello Kitty'-brand vibrator. I didn't call her beforehand, since I planned to surprise her. ben, try a slower approach. Try to talk to her first.

Maybe walk past her at a corridor/aisle and pretend to drop your books in front of her, and see if she helps you pick them up (make sure you pick some of them up yourself, too). Most girls will help. When she bends down to help pick you, start the plan off with "Thanks". Take that opportunity to start a conversation. Introduce yourself, from where, etc. and ask "What about you?". Smile. Oh, wait-- you already know each other via AIM.

Back to the plan- Once you have picked up all your books with her "help", hold the books with one hand and pat her shoulder or arm, and say "Thanks" one more time. Then "apologise" to her, and "explain" why you "dropped" the books, maybe you're in a rush, or you weren't careful, etc. She will most probably say "It's ok". Then, if possible, ask "Can we be friends?"
She should reply positively.

Start hanging out with her, chat with her during breaks or after lessons, etc. Wink or smile at her whenever you see her, maybe in the cafeteria etc.

This is a S+U+P+E+R+B plan. My friends who seek my advice rated that plan a 10/10.

Deceit will not work, you have to be 100% honest from the start and if she doesn't respect you then it's not meant to be. And also she's a horrible person if she rejects you for being honest.

Aww I'm so sorry...:(

I'd say back off for a bit and don't approach her for some time. Whatever you do don't dwell on the subject of how crazy you are about her. If she made her decision, she won't change her mind if you pressure her. The only possible way to change her mind is to drop it and let her get to know you better. Let it slide for a while, and maybe sometime in the future try and talk to her and see if that goes well. If that goes well maybe throw in a compliment here and there and see if she reacts well or reciprocates, but don't be too obsessive. Telling her she has pretty eyes will probably go over better than telling her you want to get married and do "fun things" to be brutally honest...sorry...

I don't think there's any sort of quick remedy to get her to like you...

yauhui
23 Aug 2007, 09:10
What he says is entirely true.

after sometime, talk to her (like what some person said)

and you can try my plan then

joke with her, and tease her once a while, but only praise her when the time is right.

praising and complimenting all the time make you sound like you're desperate and want to make a relationship with her as fast as possible.

be brave and admit you love her in public.

If there are lockers in your compus, make sure you know which is hers. If yours is near to hers, even better. Find for an opportunity, (or create one), when the time is right.

the 4th plan i gave you IIRC:

It is recess. Grads are clamouring in the corridor and chatting by their lockers. All of them looked the same - they are no better than anyone. But one person caught your eye: Her face perfect as the Statue of Liberty, her body as slender as a top model (definitely not Paris Hilton), her legs gorgeous as a celebrity (definitely not Paris Hilton). You center her in your view, and other people just seemingly disappear. She was looking into her locker when suddenly...

"Trixie! Trixie! Your friend xxxxxx just passed out! hurry!!" Ben's friend pulls Trixie to a class where Trixie's friend lay on the floor.

Ben takes the opportunity to sneak to Trixie's locker and places a bouquet of flowers.

When everything becomes ok, Trixie hurries to her locker and went three steps backwards, her jaw open wide in astonishment. The fragrant flowes had a note in between that reads:

Dear Trixie,

Please calm down.

I would like to apologise, with all my hearts, for the incident of the website i gave you.

It was a misunderstanding; i was so attracted to you that i over-reacted.

Can we just forget whatever that just happened, and be friends again?

I hope we can hang out together. Would you mind?

Dearest,

Desperate Ben.

1. You made a website. Most girls don't like nerds/geeks
2. As you say she's never really looked at you, it's unsurprising as you probably don't know her well enough for it to pass off ok.

Trouble with girls is, if you get too close, you'll just be a friend and never go out with them, but if you stay too far away, you don't stand a chance either. You have to get close to them but not for too long before asking them out.

Ok I got it to work.

One time, I got a picture of you from the yearbook and used a program called Adobe Photoshop to put myself next to you. It was really neat, but then my hard drive crashed and I lost the picture! :-( I felt very sad.

...dude, you kidding or what? That's just WRAUNG!

It would be really cool if we got married! I can just imagine standing at the altar, giving our vows, and pledging to spend our lives together. Then the fun part would come, the honeymoon! LOL!

Really, though, I'm just making this website for one big reason. I really want to do some fun stuff with you, if you know what I'm talking about! ;-) Some people call it "rolling in the hay", and other guys call it "taking the beef bus to tuna town" - that last one is pretty funny! LOL!

Why don't you just step up to her, grab her frenchkiss her and afterwards shout "I WANNA BANG YOU!" It's pretty much what you did there...

You pretty much blew it buster...and my firefox was right to crash that piece of psychotic crap...

I've bolded out parts that could've been your mistake.

My name is Benjamin and I want to be forever yours! I am just an ordinary guy but when I saw you walking down the hallway yesterday I wanted to make sure that I knew everything about you! For this reason I made this website!

The music playing in the background right now is Beauty and the Beast! It is the theme song from one of my very favorite movies of all time! It is so funny and it makes me laugh every time I see it. Gaston is so scary though! What is your favorite movie? Perhaps we could watch a movie together some time.

I built this website because I love you so much. That probably sounds pretty weird, LOL! But I think you are just so beautiful. I want to touch your gorgeous brown hair and get lost in your beautiful blue eyes. In fact, sometimes during chemistry, I stare at you from across the room for the entire class! I kinda miss what the teacher says, but it's worth it! ;-)

One time, I got a picture of you from the yearbook and used a program called Adobe Photoshop to put myself next to you. It was really neat, but then my hard drive crashed and I lost the picture! :-( I felt very sad.

LOL! I love every part of you. No part of you goes unnoticed. When you broke up with that dumb jock Thomas... you looked so sad that I just wanted to glomp (hug from behind) you the whole time... but I was too shy! I will not be a Thomas. I will be a nice guy. I will never ever break up with you. I will to be your friend, and a lot more too. So will you be mine?

Love, Benjamin

Alternatively, if it is a joke, then I've highlighted the parts that give it away.

I don't know. At this point you should balance your opportunities. Don't close any doors.

Your friends at this school you've probably been with all your life. But if you move to the new school, you might be with her for the rest of your life. Consider there are 6,000,000,000 people in the world... half are women. There are lots and better ones, but before anything, make sure not to screw it again :p

Being obsesive doesn't help at all, and falling in love just by sight is a pure joke... I know what I say :p

Just don't get obsessed at all.

And don't do any other website like that creepy one. In case you did actually do it seriously, and you are not laughing your ass off from your side of the screen... Just let me doubt about the reallity of that, but the screwing up was quite massive... TOO massive. But if it was actually real, just learn from the mistakes and don't repeat them.

All right, here's an update. I had a talk with my parents, just to gauge their support, and I was kind of surprised at their reaction to me wanting to transfer. My mom said that she didn't really think I was "fitting in well" at my current high school, and thought that "a change of scenery" might be a good choice. My dad said that he had no problems with transferring, as long as I kept up my schoolwork.

And really, my mom is right; I don't much care for my current school. Trixie was the only thing that really kept me interested, and now that she's gone, nothing of particular interest is left. My teachers are boring, and I don't really have any friends.

I also found out what school she's at now (via Facebook), and when I asked my parents about that school, it turns out my dad graduated from there, and had a great time in high school! So if I want to go for it, I'm pretty much in the clear.

But when you're tracking her through Facebook, suddenly showing up at her new school, or go into her class, you've crossed the line to becoming a stalker. Fine, maybe moving to a new school might be a good idea, regardless of the girl, but after over a month of discussing your love life on a Internet Worms-forum, you'll have to face the hard fact that she'll never be yours.

http://jyjy_simply_clean.blogspot.com (my friend makes a clear statement to a boy who likes her but she doesnt)

p.s. only read the freakish part on the top, dont read other parts of her blog :p

p.p.s. "lao gong" means "lover" or "husband" or "hunny" etc.. pls ignore the lousy grammar.

It's not like I can give her an apology if I never see her.

Then e-mail her and tell her you'd like to talk to her in person.
See what happens.

This thread is one big fat joke right, if its not the person concerned really needs a crash course in how to woo a woman. Okay heres the crash course

1) don't tell her you want to crash ram your beef train into her tuna town

2) Don't build websites about how you look at her throughout the chemistry lesson

3) don't tell her you want to marry her

Basically you have been WAAAAAY to forward and fast and told her stuff that someone should only tell someone when they have been going out with them for at least a month. Girls like to be pursued but not like this!

No you are wrong. The problem is that he wasn't straight forward enough.
Ben, you should have gave her a ring and proposed in front of all the school, and hired a priest to marry you right there. And give her the Kamasutra as a wedding gift, highlighting the positions you want to try out first.
That would have worked like a charm.

uh...? excuse me? A ring? In school? A priest? Marriage? Kamasutra (but where can he...)? POSITIONS..??!!! *faints*

I think MtlAngelus is turning this thread into a 13SX thread or so.

Lol, this is another funny thread... I have not read the entire thread, and neither do i ever intend to... but from what i have picked up, this sounds like stalking. hehe.

Dude there are MANY MANY more fish in the sea, we all at some time and place in our lives, get besotted over a girl, who is unattainable...

Quite frankly id love to marry Jessica Alba or even Carmella Descare...

But sadly that will never happen, so what i did, was come back to earth, and find a new girl. Which i did, and im totally happy.

If she is scared by you, or intimidated, or whatever, just move on, she obviously doesn't deserve all the attention and time that you are dedicating to her. Life Goes on....

Ok, Ben do NOT do this, this guy is trying to get you to make a fool out of yourself so he can laugh at you. Repeat: do NOT do this.

You know, if I were the girl I would ask for a restriction order against you. Mainly because of the "marriage" part :S.

An advice: don't mention it again...

Many people gain a newfound confidence when behind a computer screen, finding themselves able to say what's in their heart without worrying about being made fun of (like some people, not mention any names, are doing to Ben right now).

Ben, even if you decide not to pursue her at her new school, consider keeping the site up as a memory of these times (or take it down, if it makes you uncomfortable).
