I have had this problem several times with WA, with the original CD and other installations, on XPSP2. I go to change the resolution to something other than default, and there is no way that it stays at the resolution i have selected. It will stay at 640x480 no matter what, even if it still says 1680x1050 or whatever resolution, after I exit and start the program up again. Am I missing something? I can't get the settings to stay, and I know I have done this before on my friends system with the same setup.

Also, when I go to save a weapons scheme, it doesn't save. Just like that, no option to save or name it, you press save but it doesn't work. Very frustrating.

i am running the very latest patch. HELP!

Are you running W:A from a limited user account?
Try running W:A under an adminstrator account.

Try entering a new name for the scheme you're trying to save first.

I'm certainly the Admin. Everything on my system is configured properly. I am an IT Manager so I know my stuff. :)

Make sure you manually set the coloured resolution box to "Custom Resolution" first before you select a resolution from the dropdown menu. That solved the problem when I first experienced it.

Somehow that worked. I tried clicking that box till it got to custom, but i also tried just changing it without clicking the box and it still didnt work. weird UI!

dont enter any menu except the main menu after adjusting the resolution... does that work? if yes then i believe the issue in question has already been fixed ;)

I can't remember where the Franpa Scale of Inaccuracy is, but that suggestion is just plain wrong.

Edit: Ah, here we go.

how is it "wrong"?

Because it doesn't solve the problem.

it solves my issue with the resolution not staying correct... if you change the resolution then enter the team editor, scheme options or weapon editor screen then the resolution will fall back to what it was when the game first started.

Well then maybe you're just special. Besides which, it's a silly alternative to the solution I put forward, which doesn't, in fact, require you to avoid any screens, anywhere, ever.
