View Full Version : Plasma - A Moment

I received your PM, Plasma, but I'm unable to respond as you have PMs disabled. I just thought I'd say I'm sorry to hear your Grandfather has died. I never knew either of my Grandfathers, as they both died before I was born. My Grandfather on my mother's side died two weeks before I was born, in fact, and everyone is constantly saying how well he and I would have got on.

It's always sad when someone loses a relative. That being said I, nor anyone else on this forum, wants you to fall down a well and die (in either order). We probably wish other things, because you are an epic git after all, but the death request was perhaps a bit harsh of me, for which I apologise. That said, if you balk and every death request you get on the internet, you'll never make it past Google.

Sad to hear...

My condolences.

Thanks. It means a lot to me. I didn't have any relation close to me die before.
I hope that one of the mods will change by signature by the end of next week though...

(On a side note, I find my avatar to be quite ironic...)

Yes, I know you didn't mean bad. I'm just a little touchy at the moment about that stuff...

you are an epic git after all,
Well, I do try my best!

I know the user mods can't do that, and nor, strangely enough, can we revoke infraction points allowing you to do it yourself. Might as well just wait it out. Nobody reads signatures anyway.

Yeah... that's a strange one. Why hasn't your avatar disappeared like it should have done when you got a Being Watched status?

Anyway, sorry to hear about the passing of your grandfather.

IIRC being watched just means you can't change your av, unless something's changed recently.

And obviously I'm sorry to hear about your Grandad Plasma.

No, there's a "glitch" in the system that when a Being Watched status is given via infractions, the person's avatar disappears. Or at least that's what's happened on everyone who we've put on BW prior to Plasma....

It'd be very confusing if that happened to Xinos.

Plasma, I wish to send my condolences.

May your grandfather lay in the hands of the ever mighty God
who always leave him not.

May he rest in ever long-lasting peace high up in the sky
where the birds that support him, fly.

May he be surrounded by a bed of flowers
that give out an exceptional fragrance which give Him powers.

May his spirit and soul
remain in every youth.

May you look forward to a better tomorrow
leaving the past, and everything that goes with it shallows.

Do drown yourself in fear, sorrow and pain
and you will never gain.

His ever cheerful moments together
lie embeded in your heart forever.

Do not let your feelings draft you away
as you will have to focus and not sway.

We may be of any race, religion and we may stick to any beliefs,
but we are one with our dearest mighty man.

What about me? I got a 5-point-worth infraction by AT and a 10-point-worth infraction by you, so that means I exceed the 10-point border to being put into the BW status.

And you said that we will have our avs dissapear in the rule thread in FanArt. That makes it look like you were the one who made our avs disappear once we go into BW, and not due to some "glitch".

And since you said that Mods use the retro purple theme, that makes BRIGHT codes appear even clearer, I want to apologise, in the BRIGHT code, if I look like i'm flaming you Mods. No offense here.

We were aware that this happened, so it went in the thread. Why it happens we do not know. Possibly it's deliberate and sometimes fails; possibly it's not but sometimes happens anyway. Personally, I don't much care.

It'll wear off in a couple of weeks anyway.

Usermods cannot edit users profiles - we lack those kind of access privileges.

Because of the way vB handles usegroups, for some reason which nobody seems to know why, the majority of members lose their avatars when they become Being Watched (note: through infractions only). We have never bothered to investigate this, since it seemed like a good "punishment" to have. Why it hasn't happened to Plasma, we don't know. And we can't be bothered to look into it. Essentially, the avatars disappearing is a glitch - they shouldn't do that (although they do come back once the status is removed).

I also put someone on Being Watched last night, and their avatar disappeared. So no idea why it didn't happen to Plasma.

Yeah, I didn't know that piracy of non-T17 software was still an offence, and a 10-point one too.

What, I honestly never saw anyone being punished for it!

Piracy of non-T17 software is still illegal, and T17 don't really want stuff like that on their forum.

I think people have been punished for it in the past, just not recently. And we tend to remove the offending posts as well.

Your status will be removed on the 18th of Sept., assuming you don't clock up any more infraction points in the meantime.

and thomasp, since my access to the PM have been "snapped off", I cant PM you so I would like to ask here.. You said we cannot use avs to fake priviledges, like User Mods, Administrator etc, but can we use avs to fake punishments like the Being Watched or Banned status?

Yes. Mods generally don't have anything against people pretending to be lesser off than they should be.
Moreso, it's not very effective to punish someone that's trying to pretend to be being punished.

In my defence, that av is really annoying, and Saddam was not a particularly interesting person.

He was interesting enough to be classified a terrorist, hunted down, and hanged. Which I guess is pretty boring, huh.

Now, nameless strangers on Internet forums who take the time to make a post moaning about avatars, that's interesting.

The idea of that is just to stop people pretending to be T17 staff or moderators and then speaking for T17. Pretending to be banned doesn't do anyone any harm. Also it's so unconvincing anyway that nobody could possibly believe it.

Being involved in the destruction of the twin towers is something, yes, but all he seemed to do in his later life is go around hiding, not really doing much harm. And frankly, I'm a lot more interested in something that, y'know, actually concerns me in the least.

yauhui
23 Aug 2007, 14:18
He wasn't involved in the 911. Ali Abdul Saoud Mohamed was. He seeked the advice of Ramzi Yousef, who was in prison, to train jihadis and gather them.

The two hijackers who was directly involved in the hijacking of the two planes which hit the WTC are Mohamed Atta and Abdulaziz Alomari.

Wikipedia rocks.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ali_Mohamed
http://www.cooperativeresearch.org/timeline.jsp?timeline=complete_911_timeline

Verdict: The mastermind of the 911 is Osama bin Laden, who just recently made a statement to all jihadis to assassinate David Beckham, Thiery Henry and Wayne Rooney. Ramzi Yousef is the "manager" of the plan.

You got to understand, the person whose terrible mass murders and other crimes against humanity led to the UK and US going into a war to topple him from power and free Iraqis from his tyranny (among other things) - which led to thousands upon thousands of lives being lost - being controversially executed for aforesaid crimes against humanity, is actually a bit of a yawn.
