Hello I recently installed WWP on my new computer, downloaded the patch and tried connecting to wormnet. I hear a fanfare but get nothing on the screen. I have never played wwp from this Ip or computer. I tried pinging wormnet1.team17.com and it says "Request timed out". There is no way I am banned because I have never played from this pc or iip address. I am not behind a router. I am not behind a firewall. I have no virus protection preventing me from connecting. What could the problem be? I'd appreciate any help.

did you wait at the sceren till a error came up? the server lags pretty badly for some reason and no one knows why, so try logging in again and waiting till it actually times out.

Pinging wormnet1.team17.com won't do any good either. Try telnetting to it on port 6667 (IRC). BTW, that's in regards of W:A anyway (but the W:A and WWP servers are on the same machine anyway).

Should he not telnet wormnet2.team17.com 6677 ? Since he is having issues with WWP...

This guy was correct. If I wait about a minute the channel list shows up. For some reason it's really laggy for me, but my friend who lives one state away from me gets a perfect connection. Can't c mplain though, at least I got it working. Btw i was really impressed by the responses I got, I didn't think anyone would actually respond but there is actually a relatively active community here. Thank you for your help.
