Hello everyone, I recently installed the latest beta update for WA. The installation went smoothly. I am not using the trymedia version. However, when I went to play online nothing showed up after I clicked autologin. I don't think it is an internal firewall problem because WA is allowed in my Windows Firewall setting properties. My config is set up with my correct IP address and Force IP is checked. I tried using WormNAT but the auto config did not work. I have looked through these threads and the WAHELP website but I can't figure out what is wrong. Could this have something to do with the fact that I am using my university's network (blocked ports?) ?

Please give me some troubleshooting advice, suggestions, or walkthrough as to what I should do next, thanks! :)

Yes, many universities have strict policies regarding usage of the Internet connection - in particular, some of them block port 6667 (IRC), which is used for connecting to WormNET. Try the following:

Open a command prompt, and type:

telnet wormnet1.team17.com 6667

You should either get an error message, or a blank screen. The later would mean it worked, and that's not the problem.

I tried doing "telnet wormnet1.team17.com 6667" at the command prompt. I got a "Could not open connection to the host, on port 6667: Connect failed".

Is there a workaround for me so I can play WA online?

It says the same thing for me too. I can play WWP online however.
Just not WA.

That would be because outgoing connections on port 6667 (used for IRC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IRC)) are blocked. It is common practice in many university and some corporate networks. There is no workaround, except perhaps using a proxy server. You should still be able to play via Direct IP and maybe Hamachi.
