It's compressed in the Gfx0.dir file. You have to decompress it using the sprite editor that can be found in the programs section of www.blamethepixel.com .

did you manage to open/execute the gfx0.dir file correctly? or assumed its just random code to be viewed in a text editor?

its embedded in that data file.

Debris sprites are stored in the Level.dir files found on the CD. The sudden death debris is saved in the gfx0.dir file. I don't think you can use FudgeBoy's sprite editor to view or compile Level.dir files. So the only way to really edit them is with a hex editor or with your own homemade sprite editor.

Debris are limited to a 16x16, 16 color sprite.

I think that since they're both compiled as .dir files, it should be worth a try...

You're doing it wrong. See my above post. You can use WormKit's file override module to edit the Level.dir files on your hard drive. I recommend not bothering with this project at all because it is more head-ache than you realize.

Sorry sammya, I can ensure you that you will not be able to do this; even if you are some sort of computer genius. There are no videos, screenshots, or tutorials that explain how to do this because it has never been done before. There are no programs available that will allow you to do this, except for hex editors. The fixed 256 color palette used by worms makes editing Level.dir files incredibly difficult and time consuming. Also, if you do make edited Level.dir files for your mod, then your mod will become dependent on WormKit to make it work.

Worms Armageddon has 29 different level themes. For each level theme, there are 2 Level.dir files. The debris sprite in one of these Level.dir files has a 32 color palette and the other has a 96 color palette. Improperly editing these palettes will corrupt the map colors in worms. Improperly editing the length of the Level.dir file will cause worms to crash. This means you would need to learn the exact structure of Level.dir files before you can edit them. And it will take many many hours to edit all 29 different themes without making some sort of program for yourself to speed up the editing.

Again, don't waste your time with this. Make your mod focus on something easier to edit.
