Solution to 3 keylock = Use key remapper to remap the arrow keys as the following...

Left Arrow = Number 1 on the keypad
Down Arrow = Number 2 on the keypad
Right Arrow = Number 3 on the keypad
Up Arrow = Number 5 on the keypad

Works for me.

I'm guessing the 3 key is conflicting with another function, potentially Page Down, which is used for chat in online games, that explains why it only messes up online.

Isnt he talking about 3 key lock? when you PRESS more than 2 key's "aka 3 key lock" the 3rd key locks off and dont work with the NEW 28 patch.... wow is it so hard to understand?:confused: im trying to let team 17 know there is a bug with the new patch.

When i play on my own it works fine there is not a problem but when i play in Worm Net it has the problem when t.s. is or off.

Etho is a respected forum member, and has helped various people before. I can assure you he is not a clown. Also, you state that the third key pressed doesn't work... May I ask when do you need to press 3 keys during the gameplay? because if it's not needed, it could be something not needed to fix like "if I press 5 keys at once, the last one doesn't work" - "well, there's no need to press 5 keys".

See, nobody will be able to help you until you can provide us with adequate information and testing with regards to your problem. I can tell you already it is not a problem with the v3.6.28.0 patch. It is a problem on your side, that you alone are facing. I am glad what I said gave you a good laugh, but for now, please hold the chuckles in long enough that you can give us some helpful information.

The way I see it, the problem is either a:
Hardware Problem (bugs in the keyboard): Some keyboards can only handle 3 key presses at one time. This is known as 3-key lock.

Other keyboards can handle more key presses, but they may lock at an unspecific number of key presses; depending on how the keyboard is wired. So on our hypothecate keyboard, we may be able to press the keys "qwert" without it locking, but it locks if we press the keys "asd". Therefore, in your online/offline tests, it would be very helpful to know if you are using exactly the same key combination online as you are offline to produce the lock. This would help to explain the inconsistency.

If you are like most people, you will probably have at least 1 or 2 other keyboards in your home. Test them out on your computer to see if they have the same problem as the one you are using. Then report your findings.

Software Problem: It could also be that some program you have installed on your computer is interfering with your key presses. Online chat programs like Team Speak or Skype might do this, macro programs, or something else could be the problem. Try turn off all unnecessary programs on your computer and see if the problem still persists.

ok etho i see what you say but why is it only worms i have the problem with... and why is it the space bar " the 3rd key i press" that locks off. no it's not the program or the matrix of my board for i have checked that.... you seem to think that i do not know what im on about. when i know there are other's that have had the same problem with this and new board's. i did not want to make you out to be a fool but asked a good question with the root of my problem being the "3 key lock" when im roping.... i can hear a few in xDMx laughing now :P but i will recheck my end of it again and get back to you soon as.

Well Darkfoot, your problem is known by me also. When I rope and press Up and Left or Up and Right and hold those keys at the same time, the Spacebar will not work, so roping perfectly smooth is almost impossible for me on this keyboard. I have a pretty cheap Logitec cordless desktop ex110 btw, don't buy it if you don't want to have the same problem. People told me to get a Cherry (mmm, I love those keyboards, but I can't find them anymore in the city) I guess you are still referring to a locked keyboard, which model are you using?

The thing that seems the most odd to me is that you say it locks at 3 keys in online games, but doesn't in offline games. So here's what I want you to test. Play a game online and try to find a definite key combination that causes a lock to occur. This might be something like "left" + "up" + "space", or "right" + "down" + "F1". Then play an offline game and try use this exact key combination that you know causes a lock.

If it locks in an online game but not in an offline game, then the problem most likely is software interference of some sort. If it locks in an online game and also in an offline game, then the problem is most likely a hardware limitation with your keyboard.

I might write a key lock test program for you to test if the key lock occurs with other games/programs on your computer. But this is only if you perform the test I have given you. Please report back here with the results and tell us which key combination you used to cause a lock.

People get that impression when you type how you've been typing. :p

i have been doing it and it seem's when i prees the up arrow/right arrow/space that the space is locked off and i just swing there. the other online game's i play dont have the same problem and yes on some of my game's i have remaped the movement to the arrow " hard core gaming style" :P all help will be greatly recived :D any help roping would most likely go in 1 ear and out the other :-/

Well, both online and offline makes no difference to my problem. BUT, I found out after some testing, that pressing "Up" and "Right" together gives no problem with the spacebar (If I press it, the rope gets released and attached) - it's the "Up" and "Left" buttons that lock the space (I keep hanging on the ceiling while the keys are pressed, unitl I release either up or left) :( So whenever I want to rope from right to left side of a map, I have to be careful a lot.... It just sucks BIGtime.

I'm afraid the only one I see at the moment is a new keyboard... Or to be very careful. Actually, I can remember my old PC had that particular keyboard flaw...

Anyways, I'm not an expert on the matter, but if the problem is from the hardware... there's not any other possible fix I can think of...

Indeed, a hardware limitation can only be fixed by getting new and better hardware. It's good to do a bit of online research before purchasing a new keyboard, and if possible, try to test it out first. Make sure it is a USB keyboard.

yep, the limitation is how the keyboard is wired up.

ive seen a steel keyboard which supports up to 8 keys being pressed at once, but its 200$ RRP.

A friend of mine came over yesterday and brought with him the exact same keyboard, I had a go at the crazy crates training mission to test out the 3 key lock, even in that offline game I could not use the space bar when up and left were held down. I forget to test up and right.

I'd love to see a litle compatibility list appearing. Anyone with or without this problem, please mention the keyboard brand and model you are using, and tell us If you have a lock or not. It would be nice to have a list of keyboards that work fine in Worms, and a list of the no-no hardware:
