So I just found this link about the new Bomberman that's coming out in the next few weeks. The developers said they are aiming for it to be the definitive version of this 20+ yr old game by combining the best features of prior versions and adding some new stuff.

After reading this and how the game is 8 players (the limit on Live Arcade) I can only hope that Team17 releases a version like this for Worms. Even a full priced retail Worms that allow you to customize the look of your worms like this and customize just about every feature would be great.

Bomberman looks like it's gonna be my next Arcade purchase and I hope Team17 can release a monster version of Worms in the near future.

I bought some MS Points the other day just so I could buy this when it came out... you'll definitely see me playing! :D

Wouldn't be bad to have a friends list with people who play both Worms and Bomberman, since those are likely the games I'll be playing most.

8 players is fine for Bomberman since it's realtime but for Worms, it would take forever to get your turn.

8 is much too much for a Worms game. T17 even felt the need to reduce the W:A 6 back down to 4.

I thought the 4-team limit was because XBLA-Worms was a remake of the first game and not W2/WA/WWP.

Anyway, when Bomberman LIVE comes out I will be ALL OVER that game. Next month will be great for the Arcade; between that and Puzzle Fighter HD, anyway.

Have you seen any of the publicity for Worms Open warfare 2? It sounds like what you're after. Of course, its DS/PSP, not XBLA.
