Okay, since I somehow managed to win Fanartist of the Month for May (we really should tighten up the rules for this thing) I will now present the Theme for this month.
I'd like to see iconic images -- famous paintings, movie scenes, classic scenes from TV, and the like -- recreated or subverted in a way related to a Team17 game. (I say that, but we all know everyone will just do Worms anyway.) A bit like that Worms version of the Mona Lisa, or that Star Wars based Apathy comic from way back when. But use your imagination; I'd rather not see a whole thread full of portraits with big eyes, large overbites, and no noses.
(Bonus points if your picture is clear enough that you don't have to explain what the referenced famous image is supposed to be.)
Have fun, or don't.

i'd make it if i had the skill but i recommend someone make a pic of the worms as the rat pack from the original ocean eleven. or the dirty dozen (i love army movies) or even 12 angry men.
DAMN!!!!!!! I need to learn to draw
I sure see a dark and thunderous adventure ahead of us.
That's it. Pigbuster wins. Thread over. ;)

Should be fun :)

You put him on the poll, and the winner from the poll has to create the next month's fanart thread. Plus, you left the only sensible entry off the poll.

Quite different from the others, and dunno if it really counts (but the fact he said movie scene brings me to the conclusion it does), but here we are.

ASide from the obvious "no ears" thing, if that was me in that chair I'd untie myself -- when your hands aren't attached to your body, escaping being tied to things is easy.
Random drop-inning.
The picture in question is overused and cliched, but iconic nonetheless...

I don't think you can sue for copyright infringement.
Or can you...
Hmm... How much do you think I would get from Romans if I copyrighted blueprints to the colloseum?

You could sue for someone copying your idea, if they made money out of it.

Of course you can; it's a civil offence, how else could you enforce it?
But you can't copyright a blueprint to an existing-- You know what, I don't even know what you're talking about now.

Sorry, I meant you can sue a person that made his worm before you copyrighted it.
But Liketysplitt hasn't really inventred anything unique yet, so my point still stands.

He couldn't even if he wanted too - Paul automatically owns a copyright to any art he produces, so long as he can prove he did before the other person. I reckon his posting it here before whoever makes VGCats posted their version would be good enough evidence.
AndrewTaylor
18 Jun 2007, 20:58
Given that the image is a combination of two copyrighted works anyway, I don't think it would be in anyone's interests to sue.

I imagine he initially just wanted www.pen1sland.com to reflect the website name (pen island) as spaces are not allowed in URLs. Anyway, I would have thought that he didn't notice it could be read (and would be read more frequently) as peni5 land.
yeah. i thought of that too at first. peni5 land. lol.

It is possible that you tried it and got the wrong website, as I accidently put the wrong URL.
Anyway, it's actually www.pen island.net (remove the space).
Intercapping is often used to clarify a domain name. However, DNS is case-insensitive, and some names may be misinterpreted when converted to lowercase. For example: Who Represents, a database of artists and agents, chose whorepresents.com; a therapists' network thought therapistfinder.com looked good; and another website operating as of October 2006, is *****land.net a website for Pen Island, a site that claims to be an online pen vendor, but exists primarily as a joke, as it has no products for sale. In such situations, the proper wording can be clarified by use of hyphens.
