Do you know a freeware gif animator? I've searched in the Internet but I find only shareware gif animators!:eek:

Try the GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/). It's all free (it's a bit like Paint Shop Pro) and it has a seperate animation package that you can download for it. It allows you to turn a layered gif into an animation, but it doesn't really come with anything in the way of documentation or help. The best thing to do would be to load an animated gif into it and see how it works in the program. It's what I use.

There is no black bar. There is however, the line of the dog's head zooming out that you may believe is a flaw in the avatar.

I can search myself, but I can't find a free gif animator.

Melon, I can't find the link of the download for GIMP.

That's a point, it's not that easy to get around the GIMP site. Try this page:

You'll want the GIMP program itself (top download), the GTK+2 Runtime environment (the second download), and the Animation Package, right at the bottom of the page.

Once you have all of them, install them in this order: GTK+2, GIMP, Animation Package.

I download GIMP, GTK+2 Runtime Environment and the Animation Package, but when I open them, then Word appears and it says all the things from the site I downloaded GIMP. Simply, I can't open the files, I can't install it and I can't make now my animations!

Eh? That should contain 2 exe files and a zip file. Why in the world would Word be opening up? If you try to install GIMP or the Animation package before you install the GTK+ environment (you may need to restart your computer afterwards), then you'll get an error message. Word shouldn't have anything to do with this. At all. I don't know what's going on there.

Maybe you downloaded the webpage instead of the files? And you're opening an html document? That's all I can possibly think of.

Ah. It's an error in the internet browser you're using. I can see it now in IE7, but not FF1.
There's not really much you could do about that. Well, mabye re-saving the animation using a different program might work.

Sorry, I haven't been able to continue on av-making (school's a bugger), but the donkey has got 4 legs, rotatable, but not yet made into frames. So Plasma, you'll have to wait a bit longer (half a week maybe, then school-project is over)
Right now I'm making a print-design (like those in ur comp, but then less complicated) and it's taking quite some effort to make my oscillator work without chips =/

Of course. Image --> Scale image will reduce the entire image. Image ---> Canvas size won't scale it but will just crop where necessary.

You can also find the same things under the layer tab that work on the currently selected layer only, rather than the entire image.

A worm does a kamikaze into another worm. An explosion occurs and the word Poninja appears from the explosion.

Well, in human terms, then you would've been right the first time about that kamikaze is just killing yourself to harm others.
But when you're talking about a worms game, and using/doing a kamikaze, it's nearly always implied that it would be the weapon itself, not the act. Especially when you see 'select a kamikaze'.

Apoc, just because the limit has been increased to 100x100, doesn't mean you have to create avatars with that as a base size. :p

I want it to make a shine from the left to right. If you can't make the text changing colours (or it isn't possible) don't make it, just the only thing to do is to make this shine (or again if it isn't possible) and resize it to fit in my avatar.

i mis-understood you for glitter text plus i thought this was possible b4 but i know realise it isn't, if i added your shiny/glitter text it would be appauling quality because your avatar is 60x60 and i made it that size so the worms don't look low resolution so if i added the text it would looks absolutely crap, i'm sure more experienced avatar makers would agree

heres the problem

you know the hat has a multi-coloured strap?
well that is adding more colours to the pallete, therefore making it over the 10kb limit.

I can easily compress it but only if the you wouldn't mind ther beeing no strap. (or a strap with one colour)

every layer is a frame, just draw some crap ona 10 layers, save it as a .gif, gimp will ask if you want it animated.

The explosion of this animation is short, just remove the hat that wormthingy added.

well at least you animation creators can have some challenging task to fulfill :)

and i think that an explosion is smaller in size than an inflating balloon thing.

like in mobile phone worms, the explosion is basically a flash of yellow and orange, and then the explosion wave is just a few line-circles (and not a filled-circle) that expands to the whole av (imagine it as the outline of the inflating balloon) just like poninja's av
