Last night, or the one I just had before I woke up...I was in Florida, driving around in a huge van, and we stopped to get something to eat. So I ordered a pizza, and it was done in like 2 minutes flat. Then my "somewhat" Ex came in. So that kinda put me in a bad mood and someone else was trying to start crap with someone. So, naturally, I started to sing the song BICYCLE, by Queen. And I got half, if not everyone, to join in.

Yuuuuuuuuup.

I think we are not gettting the point of this... ANYWAYS.

I once (very long ago) dreamt that my school had a bomb. Everyone was running around, with the arms up, yelling, and a BUDIST SINGING GROUP was on the main stairs. The strangest fact was that nobody left through the main door. I cannot remember much, except that me and the rest of my class had to find the key that opened our classroom were it seemed to be the bomb. After running upstairs and downstairs, we finally got to the dinning room, were an oversized TWEETY and JONHY BRAVO gave me the giant-castle sized key (seriously, I found it normal at the time... not like a GIANT YELLOW CANARY and a overgroomed freak come with a hugeass key everyday). Then, we ran like hell to our classroom, opened it with the key, and then, like if it was totally normal, the plot changed, we forgot about the bomb, and the class was full of trees. TREES. Everyone was going to sit to their places... and everyone had a wooden board on their desk... Then, I realised mine had a quite big hole filled with that squishy brown thing to fill it so it doesn't look like eaten by termites, and a guy I hated laughed at it. Then, we looked at his board, and he had a hole AS BIG AS THE BOARD. instead of a board, it could be just the border. Then, he inserted his whole arm inside that thing, and I woke up.

I started to ask myself if I needed mental help.

It is this that elevated your dream from strange to totally amazing.

Unfortunately for me, I've never been able to remember any of my dreams. :( I'd like to know what crazy stuff my mind can come up with.

If you want to remember your dreams, try saying to yourself "I will remember my dream when I wake up" right before you drift off.

Actually the ability of remembering your dreams is caused by you waking up during them...or the REM cycle being broken. So I would think it's safe to say, if you don't have something that wakes you up, such as an alarm clock, chances of you remembering your dreams are slim. I mean, we dream multiple times while we sleep, but only can recall the one right before we wake up with the most detail.

The thing that you kinda touched on PibGuster, is lucid dreaming. Saying "this is a dream" over and over is a way one can enter lucid dreaming. Because if you are able to tell yourself, or set up a sign for yourself in your dreams to let you know that it IS a dream...you can then start lucid dreaming. Which, pretty much can give you god like powers being able to control everything... or wake you up. :p

I used to lucid dream a lot, but after getting everything and anything I really wanted, it started to get boring. :p Just going with the flow of whatever your mind comes up with is more entertaining in the long run. Although, lucid dreaming has it's perks as well. Especially when you start to have a nightmare and you are then able to turn it all around OR just move on to what seems to be, a completely different dream all together.

MrBunsy

Alex, sounds like a perfectly normal odd dream to me :p

Especially when you start to have a nightmare and you are then able to turn it all around That and being able to fly are some of the best bits, if you ask me.

I love dreams! And I'm normally able to remember one every morning, although sometimes it takes me till breakfast to remember 'em.

Normally they're fairly similar, in a very general sense. Something that either winds me up, or happens every day, or is coming up. I've lost count of the number of times I've had a dream about something I'm looking forward to the next day going completely wrong, and then there's a huge relief when I realise it was a dream. I also seem to get loads of dreams about trains :-/ . Only the other night I had one where everyone had to get off at the wrong station and we were told we had to walk across the tracks to get to the right station, we nearly got run over and then I complained at the station staff. And then I get loads about accidentally finding old railways, in the garden, on an abandoned footpath, sort of thing. I enjoy them all the same, but they aren't half peculiar.

And then every so often I get one completely out of the blue which is so different to anything else and rather weird. I tend to write these down.

The problem with dreams, is I tend to forget them fairly swiftly.

I remember one though, where for some inexplicable reason zombies were attacking my school. Therefore, me and some of my mates decided to go for a cycle ride a few miles away to get away from them. We then got bored and went back. I was cornered numerous times by the zombies, but it was alright as they were so startlingly slow I could just run through big groups of them, pushing them out of the way, without being hurt. Then Dumbledore came and told me it was because the land of the dead had been disturbed, which was conveniently in our Drama block. So I walked through the doors and told the receptionist I was dead, and he told me to sit in a chair in the waiting room, from which I could see everyone walking past the window happily (I don't know where the zombies went) and they waved to me, telling me what bad luck I'd had dying. Then a door opened and the devil was coming up some escalators from the fires of hell, and then I woke up

That's about as coherent as any normal dream of mine. I'm not even going to *tell* you about the time storm troopers and Darth Vader attacked our English classroom and we all turned out to be Jedi knights...

That one sounds too good to be true. XD

I also remember another with zombies in it slighty... It was at a place I know, somewhat cornered, and I was trying for like 5 minutes to crack a zombie's neck. Don't ask me how the others didn't reach me. I finally cracked it :p. I don't remember what happened before or after, only that part.

Incoherent rant:

First of all, locations in my dreams are often connected. For instance, everytime I dream of my home town it looks the same way. Distorted of course, but it's usually distorted the same way in all dreams that are based in that location. The rule applies to most important locations, like amusement parks, schools, roadss, airports etc. Interestingly, when I think about one of theese areas, I remember some dream where that area was connected to another which probably was a seperate dream. So I'm kind of making a mental map of how all theese dream locations fit together, but it's rather unprecise obviously. I started writing this post by mapping the locations which made me remember a good five dreams that I thought I totally forgot. =D

rant end.

Any way, to get on topic. This is just a really creepy part out of a bigger dream, but basicly I had to get from one place to another, so I was walking along this road. Suddenly, all the colors shifted to grayish blue, and the music (for some reason there was music now) slowed down, into some kind of sad eerie piano tune.
Then this tre-ent ghost made up of hundreds of thin branches and a skelletal face would appear on the road. Not sure how the situation turned out, but I remember that it was all over the news that the world had been overrun by theese ghosts and all encounters with them would happen the same way, color shift and music downtempo. Also the ghosts would never look the same, but share the theme of being made up of thin branches and having skulls heads.

Probably inspired by Final Fantasy 7 and the crap emulator I was running it on where the game would slow down to crazy low FPS when running into random encounters, for about 5 seconds before it speed up to it's normal rate again ;)

I had a dream about in 2005. A maniac that looked awfully like my dad had me hostage along with some other people, I was dead thristy and he sprayed some liquid at me, I thought it was water so I drank it only to hear his sinister laughter, it was actually petrol. Anyway, he left to reload or something and then I broke for the door, for some reason as I reached the door I looked back and he wasn't there (I could hear his footsteps though) so I ran out into the night and while I was running, I woke up in bed. Speaking of random encounters, I once played Xenogears for a while and there were so many random battles that, when browsing this forum (it's my homepage, so it's usually the first site I visit), I kept thinking that a random battle would happen when I clicked on something. Sadly, this was not a dream.

*nominates for post of the year*

Anyway, I've had a couple of ocasions where dreams have completely predicted the outcome of a following day.
That said, I once had this dream that I got a job as a waiter in a cafe that had opened in a particular area in my neighbourhood. And the following day of me getting the job we were invaded by aliens. It was also quite possibly one of the most realistic dreams I've had in terms of locations matching real life locations with very little distortion. A year or so after that dream, a cafe did open in that particular area of my neighbourhood. In the same exact building, in the same exact spot as in the dream, mind you (but I supose that is because that does seem like a nice spot for a cafe). I never got a job there tough. And now it's closed. :(

Waking up in the middle of a dream is how we actually see a dream at all.
We dream a lot during the night, but it doesn't seem like we live through those because you didn't wake up during one of them.

Telling yourself to remember does help just like it does with lucidity.
And also, when you wake up, you want to try and remember everything the dream, before your mind wanders to other things.

I'm not sure I could ever have lucid dreams. I'm rarely an actual person in my dreams, I usually dream in the third-person.
And I'd rather give creative control to my subconscious, anyway. My dreams are quite creative. I rarely have people I know in my dreams, it's all original stuff.

Seriously, you can't be real... :p

I've had loads of dreams about my town, and it's always laid out in a way which seems like an old memory, if that makes sense. It's nothing like how it actually is, but it some parts seem to be based around areas of town I'd not been to for years, and had forgotten about. Sometimes I find them, and sort of recognise them, which is really odd.

"To lucid dream, you must have good dream recall. Set an alarm for 90 minute inervals, and you should wake up during REM. When this happens, you remember that dream. Write them down. Do this for about 2 nights a week. Then, when you are dreaming, do a "reality check". Try jumping. Try all sorts of things, to test if it's real or a dream. Once you know it's a dream, you've gone lucid."

odd. I can sometimes experience real life in third person- my eyes are still working, but I envision multi angles in my head, and sometimes they feel more real than what I can see- even though I can still tell where I'm going.

I just dreamt this:

I had been called to the military to try out too see if I should join. It didn't take long for me to leave, but the place was wierd and I had to descent lots of stairs. Then it happened again, except it was the navy, or atleast something to do with water. This time when running around in the building looking for the exit I ran into somebody from my old class, but didn't have time to talk. Soon I was in a library like place and a receptionist greeted me.

There was a science team here and they had some kind of rapidly evolving silly putty. You could take a bit out from the jar and when it came in contact with air it gained life and would start taking the shape of an insect. Then it would evolve into better and better life forms. Soon they revealed they had two more kinds of this stuff. The first was just basic, the second was light reactive and thereforw ould evolve or behave differently. They demonstrated this aswell outside during a sunset and I thought the light might not be bright enough. The third type of putty though allowed it to evolve into airbourne creatures. Upon demonstrating this it turned into a bee/misquitoo thing and flew off, and the whole science team got upset. That's when I said "We could tag them/it" and they where overjoyed with the brilliant idea. Except one guy who claimed already to have had that idea but nobody listened, and also that if it was my idea we would be cellebrating even more. (It makes little sense). They where all sitting by computers, and we where still outside. I was checking something on imdb.. Oh, and throughout this whole Silly Putty event I was hoping I soon would be allowed to have a jar of this awesome stuff.

Now, back inside or something, I had to check a computer again. So naturally I go outside and into the woods that are right outside, and start walking down a long path. The forrest was moist and mossy. Very shortly I saw the terminal standing by the path in the middle of this ancient forrest and so I started using it. Right as that happens, I look down the path and there's a Trojan Horse made out of brown leather patches, not moving its legs, GLIDING up the path towards me. I fall down betwhen some rocks terrified of this demonic contratpion.

No sooner does that happen untill the King of the science/military base get mad at me and force me to spend 15 minutes time out, which was actually an hour since this was video game time and it was alwase 1/4 of the real time (I know the math is reversed). So I was confined on a platteu for a while and then my alarm clock woke me up.

A summary of an odd dream I had last year:

I was walking around in Stockholm at random when a party called 'God.Inc' took over the country by throwing bibles at the Swedish government. They abolished wages completely and made us work 24 hours a day (23 on Sundays) so they could compete with China. Then, a communist resistance movement called 'Papa Smurf' overthrew the God.Inc party by throwing tomatoes at them. They introduced one hour work days, but the income tax was raised to 1001%. For obvious reason, this led to mass starvation, and people had 'no choice' but to eat each other. America came to rescue us by dropping two atomic bombs. Only ten people survived. We started to grow rice on fields which we owned collectively. We had no leaders or laws, but since we quickly learned to know each other, there was no problems with it. And we lived happily for awhile, until Rosie O'Donnell decided to live with us and began to eat up all our rice, soil and houses. Bill O'Reilly came on a flying mechanical bull to rescue us by dropping another atomic bomb, and an epic battle between him and Rosie O' Donnel began. They smashed into each other, which casued a supernova. All living creatures died, except for two: A one celled animal, who happened to be me, and a two celled animal, who refereed to himself as Pharaoh. He ate me up, and I woke up.

Also, keep in mind that this all happened in matter of around eight to ten minutes.

Thank god he's still alive, but he's going away for a week. It's really bad timing for having a dream like that.

I had a dream once where a werewolf was chasing me up a long circular star case in some sort of old tower. Classic snarling werewolf, and it was always about half a circle on the stairs behind me. Every now and again we'd get to the next floor and I'd run into a room, and something was going on: it was like a posh, black-tie party in one, and there were some people playing watching TV in another. So I'd relax, talk to people, whatever, and then excuse myself saying I have to leave, and go out onto the stair case where the werewolf hasn't moved from, and he starts chasing me again, and so on.

I can be a complete idiot in my dreams.

I once had this weird dream of two lego transformers fighting with eachother in a boxing ring. then i suddenly started to dance with the transformers and they started to multiply. in the end i was the lead dancer with them behind me also dancing and we did the whole thriller clip wiht only difference me and the girl being zombies...

another dream i had haunted me for several years.
I was at my previous home and had these babysitters, the asked me to go get french fries. back then the snackbar was just around the orner, so i walked to the door and it opened it laughing. But. there was this dude in a black robe with a black tucan mask standing in the door opening. so i got scared and ran back into the room ,whcih suddenly was empty. so I hid below the table. he ofcourse found me and as his hand grabbed my face I always woke up.
I had several variations of this dream. one even had a whole army of tucan guys in tanks and all, they jumped in through the window in that one.. also had one un whcih i was on the roof of a flat and he flew in the sky on two articunos.

when I found out where the dreams came from I stopped having them. I was indeed babysitted by the people in my dream and they were watching the film "amadeus" that night in which a man in a black tucan suit suddenly pops out. turns out i was watching too from behind the door while I had to be in bed.

also had a dream of a birthday, weird thing was that is was no ones birthday. anyway, there was tommie (from sesamestreet) inie minie (same source) and pino (a blue big bird) and some other tv characters.. even paulus de boskabouter. t was great. balloons, flags, lemonade.. the pie reached to the ceiling :D
but, as always the tucan came and messed it all up.

One time, I drempt that I woke up, got out of bed, and then fell into oblivion. Then I woke up, got out of bed, walked downstairs, and fell into oblivion. Then my alarm clock went off. I slapped myself in the face to make sure I was awake. I was, and it hurt. A LOT.

As it happens, I've never dreamt of falling as far as I can remember per se. Plenty of times though have I been lying in bed just drifting off, when I suddenly thought I was falling over and jerked in my bed. That's wierd that it.

I believe that has happened to me, as well.

So maybe it's not as "weird that it" seems. :p

I usually dream of falling down stairs for as far as falling dreams go.

I only have falling dreams right before I fall asleep. When I was younger it was alwase falling off cliffs onto the bed, but later it started being me running and tripping on something so I'd fall forward and slam my face into the ground. Alwase as shocking and fun =D

I have that too! When you're just about to fall asleep, really drowzing and all of a sudden you get the feelng you're falling out of bed, right?

Also about my dreams, can't really recall them, I could when I was younger.

This is a pretty interesting forum thread... :)

Anyways, i once had a dream that is was in class at school (and it was somehow located at the beach), when i looked out the window, i saw some towers falling over. Later, i saw something freaky: A brown planet the size of a football floating in the skies and breaking through the roof of the school.
I don't really remember the rest of my dream. However, when i was awake, i had a weird feeling all the time.

That happens all the time with me. Your heart kinda lurches in a bad way when it happens. As if after a fright.

I usually dream of falling down stairs for as far as falling dreams go.

Same with me, I dream of "fly-falling" down stairs and hills and other slopes. As in a fall but don't touch the hill/stairs so I soughta "fly" down it at high speed.
It can be fun in some dreams and frightening in others.

Once I had a wierd dream about starwars and droids. I can't remember all of it, but it was very recently.[it was based on an old computer game called star wars droidworks. at the end my "droid" pressed a button and an assasin droid came out and said: "your fear is more effective" [why he said that, I have no idea, as droids have no emotions. I assume by this he ment "WAKE UP YOU EEEEDIOT!!!"] So, then I woke up and told my friend [who is a serious michael jackson fan] about it. he said his scariest dream involved "zombies" or something. Too much "thriller" music videos.

Apart from a few colours swirling in and out of each other, I havent had any since realy.
apart from this one off daydream about a forum called Team17...oh dear, im getting mixed up. well there was one were the team17 logo jumped out and said something like "H,U,M,P ME!!!!!!!!" or did I just make that up?

Last night my dreams were just... weird.

In one of them, Michael Moore was dead. It wasn't the focus of the dream at all, it was just a passing fact that he died an hour after leaving his interview on The Daily Show.

It was really weird when I woke up and read a review of Sicko in the paper. At first I thought "Damn, I hope this is good. It's his last film, after all..." before realizing what I was actually thinking.

who is michael more? and what is sicko?

new made up dream: gets lost in car park. encounters wierd alien ghost freaks. runs away. bumps into lamp post. wakes up. becomes paranoid that weird alien ghost freaks are realy following him. realises that his wake up in paranoia is also a dream. screams in confusion.

then I woke up and wrote about it here.
