View Full Version : A cheat?
So, I was on one of the later challenges (16 or 17 maybe) when I was close to defeat. I had one worm left, and things weren't looking good.
I looked up to the heavens, and found an escape. I used it ...

I torched my way up here, and waited for the time to expire. The gong sounded, the water rose, and the sinners were drowned. I won :D
Is this classed as a cheat, or just a tool of the quick witted?

I define it as "the coward's way out."
I was able to be challenges 1 through 19 without needing to wait for sudden death (overtime), however, this was before the leaderboards were reset, so I no longer have a time to prove it.
I'll be re-doing all the challenges here and there (since I already have the Challenges achievement) to get my time back on the leaderboards.
Yeah, it's definately a cowards way out ... but it was either that or lose the round, so ... meh! :D
I never cared much for the round times, I didn't realise the aim was to beat the level as quick as possible.
It's cowardly... but not cheating.

Not really cowardly, that level cheats like hell, so yeah, its the right thing to do, cheat it back.

It's not cheating, its called Darksiding.
A nasty way to play worms, but it can also be a fun way too.
Involves a lot of hiding out in bunkers, and fencing your enemies in with girders, so they have to waste turns and utilities.

Nope i think its not cheating either and if your a good worms player ull be able to think of away of getting the worm while hes up there, ive had many people try this against me while playing and only one got away with it.

I consider Darksiding a completely viable, good but slow way of playing. It also irritates your opponants (if they're human) meaning they're likely to make silly mistakes unless they're actually skilled.
It's also quite strategic.

It's the AI. Do whatever the hell you want.

Its near impossible to win challenges 19 & 20 without it so what the hell, go for it :p
I like collecting all the weapons crates and airstrikes and waiting for sudden death. Its the only way to win really when its 12 on 4.

Not quite what I think. Certeinly not in the way I think you mean.
You could mean this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campsite) or this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camping_(computer_gaming)) though, in which case it would be viable.

It's considered to be darksidering and cowardly but I agree with some of the other people saying "It's the AI so it doesn't matter".
Personally I'm in the middle of lightsider and darksider. somtimes I feel like digging and hiding but somtimes I love to just stand tall and kill with a bannana bomb. Usually I have one or two worms digging and the rest killing.
Sometimes darkworming is also funny Look at this photo (sorry for low quality) of course it was a draw match :D:D
