Ok... So I've purchased the version of WA from trygames (which I wouldn't have done had I known how evil they were) But after having problems with the initial installation I finally got the game running but it hangs on a black screen forever when I try to enter any kind of mode like quickplay or training.

I already did some searching and read the handy dandy more help thread stickied at the top but there wasn't anything that would help me solve this problem. I know I have more than enough system power to run this game and I am using Windows XP if that matters at all. Any help would be appreciated because I'd hate to have to get a refund and go through all that junk if there's a way to get this sucker running.

Thanks :)

It's probably easier to get a refund - you won't be able to play online properly with the TryMedia version (if at all)

Do you have the latest version? I thought there was a new enough update for XP compatibility available for the trygames WA.

I didn't see anything about an update on their website. I know that I can't use the ones on the official Worms website though. I've already requested a refund though but I'll go see if there is a patch just to confirm it. Maybe it'll help someone else unfortunate enough to buy this version of the game. Thanks for the help.

You always download the latest version from Trymedia, which unfortunately still only is v3.0.5.0.
(IIRC, there was a short time several years back when they had a separate v3.0.5.0 patch for Trymedia versions.)

Get the refund and order a proper CD version.
