Do you mean like real-time worms? If so, this is usually discussed once a month or so - use the search engine and you should dig up quite a few threads.

Real-time Worms has been discussed many, many times over the years, with proponents on both sides. As thomasp suggests, do a Forum search for more information.
Personally, I oppose real-time Worms, but only because I know I'd be useless at it. It's not so much that I think it would be impossible: I just don't think I'd buy it.

... each TEAM has a time limit to use (as per chess) after which point the worms either go down to 1 hit point or else lose a certain percentage of their power per additional minute used. If you play quick you will benefit, and the whole run-down-the-clock strategy will be meaningless.
I probably wouldn't play it mind you - I'm a bit of a purist and think the current game scheme is top notch. Nevertheless, could be an interesting variation.

Oh, now that's a very interesting idea. I like that one a lot.

Cheers mate - I always compare Worms to chess so it followed from that!
PS - next time you're walking around Leeds look out for someone with a T-shirt saying "Top 100 ranked XBLA Wormlord"... not that I've quite made it to the top 100 yet, but when I do I'm getting the T-shirt printed!

Only if I'm on my own. I'm not having my friends think I just have to run up and talk to anyone in the top 100 XBLA players.
(PS. your best bet is probably to get in just after the leaderboard is reset.)

Funny. Good point though - maybe I'll drop the shirt idea - last thing I want is a bunch of crazies accosting me in the street wanting an autograph!

Naaa - has to be a stable position maintained for a while... wouldn't be right if I just popped in for a few minutes just after the reset.
