You mean port it :p

I'd rather like for that to happen as I'm missing out (don't have a Xbox 360...yet) on the fun experience from that title.

Hello
Any chance of you guys ever releasing a compatibility patch for Armageddon or World party on vista?
Thanks =)

John Dennis to me

Hello ,

My name's John Dennis and I'm Design Manager at Team 17. Your mail has been
passed to me in the hope that I may be able to help. In answer to your
question, we're no longer developing either game, but there does seem to be
a dedicated mod community who still patch both titles, so maybe they will.
However, there may well be some sort of Worms title coming for Vista soon,
so watch this space.

I know hes not really allowed to say, but do you guys think he was hinting at a new 2D game? Everybody on here is drooling for one... Im sure the Team must have realised ages ago what we want.
Love it that you dudes always answer your mail! Thanks!

I'd rather a brand new 2D lemmings game, worms gets a bit samey after a while, good though it is.

There will be, just not by Team17 themselves.

No one working on patching WA has made any changes related to Vista compatibility, nor do they understand any of the issues people are having well enough to attempt a fix.

People are having a wide variety of results with WA on Vista (fully working, working slowly, crashes, palette problems..), and to my knowledge no one has identified a clear pattern to these results. That makes it very difficult to find out what's wrong.

I think that'd be cool. I wouldn't be shocked if we saw Worms XBLM on the PC. I have a bit of troubles with WWP, it crashes on multiplayer. But, I have it on XP mode, so it may work on 98 mode. I just think they should abandon 3D. I have Worms 3D, but it isn't as fun.

Incase you didn't know, several people have found that installing the new vista version of Forceware drivers helped:

I don't think Microsoft deciding to release about seventy-three different versions of Vista helped, although I am quite fond of Windows Vista Home Premium Ultimate Pro Phish Food Cheese 'n' Chive.

Don't worry guys.

I think if Team 17 is cluing in, it's coming to the point where the average consumer doesn't really care too much about graphics anymore.

Arguably they are important for selling a game but the best and most honest way to get a wide audience is to release a good game. Simple as that...

There's so many games that would have bombed it if wasn't for word of mouth.

A new Worms 2D game would make very happy indeed. When the series leaped into 3D it lost some of it's magic somehow...

There are no plans to bring Worms (as is on XBLA currently) to PC formats, XP or Vista.

Something is in the works for PC though regarding the series. There will be news about that towards the end of the year and not any sooner. In the meantime, look forward to the release of WOW2 on handhelds, which we think will go down a storm.

But what if all you own is a PC? How can I possibly look forward to anything else? How will I live through this year?

My life is in your hands, Spadge.

Hi everyone,

I was on Wikipedia and found this article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Worms:_Lock_and_Load). It is exciting news, but sometimes Wikipedia does have false information.

P.S. - I did use the search button to find anything on "lock and load" and didn't (that's why I'm posting this).

Off Topic - What was "Worms 4: Mayhem" made in/with, as in engine wise/with what 3D graphics software? That was the reason I went on Wikipedia in the first place lol.

I have never come across such a dubious looking article:-/

EDIT: The game sounds good though, even if it is utter tosh!

Hey KRD and others,

When I saw the article it didn't have the "The truthfulness of this article has been questioned." on top :p. Either "Team 17" took note or someone else.

kikumbob

Might be why KRD told you to look again.

Plus if you look in the discussion tab Cybershadow has left a link to spadge's post in this thread.

Total and utter garbage. Not an iota of truth involved.

Hey KRD and others,

Yeah, that was "us". :o

Oh and for the sake of whatever topic this thread still has, I don't think the active community on WA is all that desperate for a new Worms game. Maybe some of them, but they'd probably return where they belong after giving the new 'un a try. Regardless of how awesome it may be.

Is there any way of totally eradicating that article then?

Well they still seem to want it more than a 3D incarnation.

I don't think that's... Wikipedia's style. At least this way we get to make fun of it, heh.

Well they still seem to want it more than a 3D incarnation.

True enough, but I wasn't talking about the general public in my post. Sadly, those are the ones T17 have to listen to, but that's okay as long as I have WA and there are people busy coming up with ideas on how to improve it further.

Try getting W4 that is 3 times better

I'd rather a brand new 2D lemmings game, worms gets a bit samey after a while, good though it is.

another lemmings would be good but if you mean stoping worms then thats crazy! if team17 got rid of worms then they'd be DOOMED everybody loves those spinless funny guys known as worms:)

I know hes not really allowed to say, but do you guys think he was hinting at a new 2D game? Everybody on here is drooling for one... Im sure the Team must have realised ages ago what we want.
Love it that you dudes always answer your mail! Thanks!

Now some people want a new 3D like me it's kind of ackward because at first people were complaining about more 2D now it's the other way around.

There might be a new 2D worms game for PC, nobody knows. Team17 won't say, all we know it that they're very busy with something.

Well I think after WOW2 they should make a 3D game known as worms 5
that'll be a verry happy day. And team17 does seem to be busy with somthing other than WOW2

A new Worms 2D game would make very happy indeed. When the series leaped into 3D it lost some of it's magic somehow...

That's were the magic began.

Spadge do you have any worms 3D on your mind ya gotta have somthing planed for a 3D worms

stop ressurecting threads pieman...

And they did mention working with the Unreal3 engine on something. Has anything been said as to whether these two things may or may not be related?

(I myself am somewhat doubtful, I don't see a reason to use the Unreal3 engine for worms)
