I could not find this reported anywhere else, so forgive me if it's been reported before.
A common tactic when using a Kamikaze is to fire it straight down to create a "sink-hole", but it doesn't work if you fire it at the correct height. See the replay to see what I mean. The worm drowns without exploding, and a small ledge of land remains at the very bottom of the level.

So what happens? When the worm reaches a required distance, does he stop cutting through the ground, move forward slightly, then explode? That's all I can think of that causes this, as the height you have to fire it at appears to be slightly less than the worm travels before exploding.
