I've just noticed something in "edit profile"
Please contact the Administrator if your date of birth has changed.

And why exactly would it do that?

I mean, it would suffice to say "if you made a mistake when entering your date of birth"

What? Your birthdate doesn't change regularly?

thomasp

On some forums where they prevent under 13s from registering (this forum doesn't do that) and you have to enter a date of birth to prove you're over 13, this stops you doing that then changing back to your "real" date of birth if you are under 13.

Plus, there's not really any need to change your own date of birth, is there? :p

Edit:

Bearing in mind, that message does come from vBulletin, who are known for creating such messages as the following:

vBulletin Tip #42: Not much would be accomplished by merging this item with itself.

and

Sorry, no matter how much you try, you can not ignore yourself.

Hehe, my former english teacher told me that english people hardly know how to use the comma.

He's english himself. (To prevent words like "Nazi" etc.)

I used to be terrible. I've got it mostly sorted, except for the odd relapse.

In 1929 the Soviet Union introduced a revolutionary calendar in which every working month had 30 days and the remaining 5 or 6 days were 'monthless' holidays.
by that article.

I say we propel the Earth closer to the sun so we get metric years! 100 days - 10 months - 10 days per month. Everyone's a winner!

I would say further. Ok, 400 days may be less convinient (40 days per month - 10 months), but Global Warming will be less of a problem ;) .

Or, for those of you who aren't fond of being incinerated, we could just increase the speed of the Earth!

Or, for those of you who aren't fond of being incinerated, we could just increase the speed of the Earth!

Or for those of you who aren't fond of being destroyed by the catastrophes that would be created by spinning the planet faster, we could just change our entire system of time! (I mean, why does a second as long as it is? Where did they come up with this stuff?)

MtlAngelus

Under the International System of Units, the second is currently defined as the duration of 9,192,631,770 periods of the radiation corresponding to the transition between the two hyperfine levels of the ground state of the caesium-133 atom. This definition refers to a caesium atom at rest at a temperature of 0 K (absolute zero). The ground state is defined at zero magnetic field. The second thus defined is equivalent to the ephemeris second.
Easy stuff.
