If you type a smile with a captial right at the beginning of a post, it comes out as lower case and breaks the smile. See the post below where I typed :D .

The forum automatically changes posts that are all capitals (and only all-capitals - you will notice there are many, many things that cause this rule to be broken) so the first letter of each word is capitalised.

Therefore, if all you write is :D followed by 8 spaces, it will appear as :d


The forum anti-capitalisation is about as intelligent as the swear filter :p
