Like the topic says, worms were placed, mine turned active, blew up, and moved my worm. Once I was finished with my first turn of the match, that worm lost nearly half its health. If it was on the edge, it could have died.
We have the teleport tool in the game, but no "teleport in" option. Why Team 17, why? If you can't program it not to do this crap, at least let us choose our own starting placements.

after start of one match before anyone had moved i had -1 worm and another on 20 health left and the other 2 right next to each other on the edge of a cliff.
Surprisingly after about 5 seconds of that game and me with 1 worm on 20 i didnt win, yeah i know its a shocker lol. teleport in is a good idea like on previous versions.
what i sometimes do is when playing friend matches is do no fighting first round and everyone just teleports where they want but that doesnt help with the spawning on mines.

I haven't had that happen yet, can worms start on a mine in a ranked game?

I had this happen twice in a three game match last night.
All i can say is
UNLUCKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mines and worms are placed randomly, radius checks are made to make sure that a mine cannot be placed close enough to a worm for it to be triggered. However should a mine happen to be placed on a steep enough slope it can slide away from its starting location and potentially harm unfortunate worms.

This never happened. The ground around both my worm and the mine was flat.

Yes, I've seen it happen. And like the above poster, it was on a rather flat area, the mine didn't move. I remember as soon as the first turn started I heard a mine countdown.

Well if you see it again make a note of the Level Code, It's shown on the pause menu.

Because it wasn't in the original Worms. In fact the only games in the series that have included this feature have been WA and WWP (which are arguably the same game). It's not an important feature and I don't know anyone outside of the Roping and Capture the Flag crowds that use it.

Would that level code keep the starting positions of both worms and mines? Either way, if it happens again, I'll be sure to write down the level code.

It’s not an important feature? I would strongly disagree. Do you enjoy starting on the edge of a cliff? I don’t, and neither did anyone I played with back in the day, which is why none of us ever played games with random start points. Choosing where your own worms start adds a large element of strategy to the game, and helps to avoid cheap kills at the start of a match. I don’t quite understand why you can’t see that.
That sucks, and should be fixed ASAP!

yeah. the level code is actually just a seed for the random number generator. i doubt that they re-seed the generator after the land is generated, so it should generate exactly the same random numbers.
