the fact that some words have changed over the hundreds of years americans have been away from england is just something that happens. for all you know we could be speaking the english that people in england were speaking in the 1600s and you guys could be the ones speaking the evolved version :p rather hard to proove either way.

Actually, I made a mistake in my comment about that, but I realised it has nothing to do with the real point I was trying to make anyway, so it doesn't matter.

Now, at least where I am, American-English is becoming the English. You can call this the natural evolution of language or whatever, but it kinda worries me. See, the thing is, mom sounds worse than mum. Smack my head all you like, but to my mind, there's something more crude and vulgar about it, and I find this to be the same with a lot of the differences between UK English and US English. (Spelling wise and completely-different-word wise) To me, the differences represent the ugly parts of American culture, and I don't think we want that to become a part of like, other people's cultures. Perhaps it's just me, but it seems like it's deeper than just different words. :(

And, you know, sometimes I worry America is too influential like that, but I'm not going to go into it because besides the very likely possibility that it's just me being silly/paranoid/stupid, I suck at arguements/discussions/spam/whatever you want to call it. :p

Have you ever read Shakespeare? Neither of us speak the original version, but the British English version is closer to 1600s English than American English (Albeit marginally). Both languages have stupid parts (Calling everything "candy", even things that have absolutely nothing to do with candy (That is, confectionary made from candy sugar) is stupid for example, but I personally don't see anything wrong with program instead of programme).

American English has some good changes, and some terrible changes. Texas caused most of the terrible ones, I'm sure.

In all honesty, I really don't think that is going to happen. If I post anything it usually has about two, maybe three, comments on that. Then it's a whole page of complaining about the dumbest stuff. No one really gives a flying fart about my art. This is evidence of that. And that is also why you guys will never see what I can really do.
