Umm ... ya know ... they kind of already announced this on their own website. No biggie. The game will still be a hit.

How can it be postponed from "an indeterminate date in the future"?
Better 3 weeks more and rockin' than now and buggy.

FAKE!
"Worms Release Date Postponed"
How can it be postponed when it never had a release date?
What exactly is fake about it? Also, not sure if anyone noticed... but thats my site (hence, my posting)
Straight from Spadge's blog,
"There's some news on Worms XBLA. We've got a new date for it's release, basically the certification went on longer than expected (which I think everyone knows by now!) and we unfortunately missed our original January slot - just one of those things I'm afraid.
We do have a new date slot, but this will not be released until we have 100% confirmation and we know it's going to happen. It's now out of the test loop anyway and ready for the big thumbs up."
So, it was postponed from the original scheduled release date.

So according to Xbox.com it's going to be called Worms HD now? I thought it had been reverted back to simply just 'Worms'?

I just hope that Worms will be out before Feb 21... I'll get my HD-DVD add-on about then, and I doubt I'll have any spare time for Worms  I'll be watching my 3 HD-DVD's to the death ;)

Well its official, this week is NOT the week for worms.... its Root Beer Tapper.....(yeah)

Here's hoping for a Wormy Valentines day......
I'll be disappointed with every release until it's Worms. These retro releases, while not bad games, are merely impulse plays for me. Worms will actually consume a lot of my time as if it were a retail game like Rainbow Six.

This is so true for me too, minus Settlers of Catan.
Root Beer Tapper.
I'm shaking my head in absolute disgust at the garbage being served up on XBLA at the moment. They've had over a year to get some decent titles for it and we get Root Beer 'king Tapper.

Had I known this I probably wouldn't have got MS points at all (got 2100 points just because of Worms)... Well, this shows how little MS cares about gamers :(

I "predicted" it was going to come out a few weeks before x-mas, so I've been wrong for a long time. I came to this prediction only because I wanted to see worms sooner rather then later, which is probably not the best way to formulate a prediction. :P

Actually, that's the ideal way to formulate a predication (http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/predication).
It's a pretty rubbish way to formulate a prediction, mind.
Come on guys don't get dejected. Good things come to those who wait.

I saw the video and I'm disagree with that game.. I thougth that when you drop a bomb to another worm then the worm leave the screen like armaggeddon, so funny is that, when you drop a bannana, the worm just disapear wwhen it explote hhahaha so funny is that, but in the video I see the same I saw in open warfare, you drop a bomb and the worm do a mini-jump... and move 0.5 feet... so disgusting.. I prefer de armageddon version.

It almost seems like they were hinting at that it was supposed to be released this week.
this is taking too long to come out.
This is a bad move, people are losing interest

What would be a worse move?
Releasing a game with a few annoying bugs that could ultimately prevent a game from being completed, or waiting a few weeks / couple of months to iron out the bugs and release a practically bug-free game?
SamTheMan
20 Feb 2007, 14:29
Couple of months? Please don't scare us like that...
Worms Nukem Forever
Yeah, a few weeks and a few years are much the same thing.
Team17 want the game in your hands just as much as you do. Whatever can be done to make it happen is being done.
I know, just sad.
Not caring about DNF I don't mind how long it takes.
Caring about Worms makes even waiting a few MINUTES seem like years.
It's as much a compliment as it is a big fat dig. :)

Oh well, I've got the flu and don't have strength to play anyways...
This is a bad move, people are losing interest
A better move would have been to not announce a title that wasn't finished with certification.
I heard about Sensible World of Soccer coming out well before I heard about Worms coming. It was announced on the day that Doom was released.
Have I lost interest in Worms?
Nope, but I'm not as excited as I was in December when I first heard about it.
Do I feel the same about SWOS?
Nope, because SWOS isn't in a 'nearly there' situation. And I don't see people suggesting that it will be released tomorrow, then crushing my hopes in one fell swoop.
If you're losing interest, then maybe its because you come here every day for news. If you accepted that it would be realeased before April (falling in line with Q1 2007) and then didn't bother trying to find out more, you'd see it appear and be happy.

Well, in the defense of Team 17, most of the information was leaked... nothing was supposed to be known until the CES announcement. So, for the people waiting for this since December... it was pretty much leaked information, or hints by Spadge...
The game will be out in the next 3 weeks, I am pretty sure. Not this wednesday though.

I know what you're saying, but because the people making SWOS haven't made any public announcement doesn't mean it isn't ''nearly there''. In fact, 360zine a rather good, free online 360 mag (http://www.gamerzines.com/360zine/issue-3/) claims they will have a review of SWOS in the next issue, out March 13th. If that's not ''nearly there'' I don't know what is.
Also don't forget we have no idea when the game is being released and neither do Team17 until it's out of cert, so nobody (that matters) was suggesting it will be about on a certain day, only for your hopes to be crushed. Seems to me you did that to yourself.

All this could be squashed by T17/Microsoft releasing a little more info about the game. They dont have to say a specific day but narrow it down a bit. They have been saying since January 4th that it was in the final stages of release.
http://forum.team17.co.uk/showthread.php?t=31341
Which tells me that we should have known when to expect the game sometime shortly after that. Now, every wednesday until its release, everyone here is patiently (or impatiently) waiting to hear an announcement. I know they ran into some certification issues, but to keep everyone in the dark is not helping. They also have not been releasing any new information about the game. There are a lot of things they can do to build interest leading up to release. They can release more screenshots and movies, more info about weapons, DLC specifics, and even a new projected release window. Not a day but a few week window. All this stuff keeps the fans interested and buys them time to wrap up the final issues.
This is a bad move, people are losing interest
Who, exactly, lose complete interest for a game in only a few weeks?
Who, exactly, lose complete interest for a game in only a few weeks?
Residents of the USA, otherwise known as the fast food nation. Although, I'm hoping that the majority of us don't really feel this way. I don't, I'm still psyched about this game.

I played worms world party on the dreamcast all the time, and can't wait for the XBLA worms. It feels kind of like MS is delaying the release in hopes that people will pay more attention to the other crap releases, like that damned root beer game or -- even though it's not too sucky -- paperboy.

I heard that due to a typo Worms will cost 80.000 points. But that's just what I heard. ;)

Bill Gates announced in the news that we are in demand of computer science engineers ... better get to it, guys ;) I'd like to jump in there if they gave me the chance!
Hey, worms are known to crawl slowly, so just give them time and they'll make it from the mail box to your house in a week or two.
