...why not include some kind of remote control for WinAmp or iTunes within the game? That way players can use either of the programs to access their MP3 library, and the MP3s aren't being played from within WA, rather the track select, pause/play etc. would be available.

Is that possible?

AFAIK you can set up global hotkeys for both of these applications.

A remote control for WinAMP is possible (not sure if iTunes provides some DDE-like interface for that), but I'm not sure it's worth implementing...

Well, it was a thought. I know there are people keen to get custom music into the game.

I think there are many macro programs for that and many new keyboards includes special keys for winamp/wmplayer. Why do you want a game to support that?

Lets reverse the question, why winamp doesnt support to play worms in the equalizer display? :P

I use the "RM-X General Purpose" plugin to control Winamp with the extra buttons on my keyboard.

I guess that a disable background music option could be the solution. Then, the remote control. :p

Meh... I allways though that that button made the game completely mute :p
