Having tried and checked everything else a thousand times, the only problem I can see stoppiong me from being able to host is that IPX thing.

Now, how do I enable that? Before you all say 'wa doesn't need it, just change to tcp/ip blah blah' , I'd like to try it anyway.

I went on www.nanacide.com which said hor to do it by going to network connections, properties, install etc. but IPX wasn't there. Is there something else I need to do? I run windows XP btw.

Which ones? Maybe you've got 3 and forgot the inbuild firewall of Windows XP?

erm, if its not there then do you have a network card in your PC? if not then sorry but ipx/spx is only for tho's who can actually network...

--windows xp home sp2--
start -> settings -> network connections -> right click local area connection 1 -> properties -> install -> protocal -> nwlink ipx/spx/netbios compatible transport protocal -> ok

if not there then try installing -> nwlink netbios -> then re-perform above steps and if still not there install network card into PC.

Seriously, though, Rightsider, to switch to TCP/IP protocol in WA, just click on the button which is currently labelled "ISP/SPX". The label should change to "TCP/IP" to indicate that WA is using TCP/IP. Then all your router configuration, etc. should work.

Have you scanned your computer for malware? Maybe a trojan horse is sending stuff on 17011?

I have two firewalls and a router, I've forwarded all the ports, set up the firewalls, and everything.

www.portforward.com is great for routers. It has a page on Worms Armageddon in the Common Ports section.
