Safari - boots quicker than FF and has a more 'minimalistic' look. But FF has a couple of nice features that Apple really should put into Safari

Is Safari mac-based?

used to like FireFox, but Opera has won me over with a few neat toys. FireFox and Opera are on almost the same level with me as far as quality, but Opera just has a couple extras and a couple things different that I like more, personally.

You're being watched at the moment, my friend.
And Safari beats all. Unless you have a windows, that is.
Not only does it boot and run faster than firefox (Once you get safarispeed (http://www.scifience.net/safarispeed/)) but it also doesn't crash 5 times in a row like firefox did when I tried it a little while ago.
Plus, it doesn't have an obnoxious fan community. Bonus points.

that's why I'm not on msn very often.

Opera is a really nice browser, quite slick and speedy.
Plust it stores your tabs by default, which is nice (only it doesnt store the contetns of text boxes in those tabs, which gets really annoying when I start writing long posts to CyberShadow, and I lose the tab, then I stab the keyboard).
I find firefox a lot better than IE, but I haven't tried other browsers. What's different in opera?
Just many little features.
Basically, most features which in firefox you must plough through pages of extentions to read, you can do on install in firefox.
e.g. Going to last used tab rather than next tab on when closing a tab (eg if I had in firefox 3 tabs open, eg Team17 forum|Google|Downloads, then switched to downloads from team17 and close it, it would change to google, whereas in opera it would go back to team17.)
Selecting text and pressing v to get the browser to use it
Mouse gestures
Built-in e-mail
Built-in nice RSS reader (rather than live bookmarks)
Speech recognition
Fit-to-width of page
Zooming of images as well as text when you do ctrl+mouse wheel
On closure and crashes, restoring all pages by default (no-one likes to fiddle about in preferences for 10 minutes enabling all the good features)
Phishing check automatically
All this and more is pre-installed with Opera. In fact, the only thing that's not pre-installed that firefox has is a spell checker, and that is super-easy to install (you right click and click spell-check and it leads you to a page to install it)

I used to use Opera. I now use Firefox. The main reason I switched was because I couldn't find any add-ons for Opera. I have a VERY useful Firefox add-on which shows me how many GMail messages I have and tells me if I get a new one. Also I found Opera occasionally displayed websites strangely.
The less said about IE the better. Microsoft don't seem to know about CSS yet.

IE really isnt that bad. I mean sure it has a good amount of problems, but the newest version dose not seem to be as bad as the previous. Of course firefox is still better :D

You haven't actually used any of the others though have you, so there isn't much choice. ;)
IE really isnt that bad. I mean sure it has a good amount of problems, but the newest version dose not seem to be as bad as the previous. Of course firefox is still betterApart from RSS, better printing and tabs, there isn't that much difference between versions, except a few other small features. It's still quite a pathetic browser compared to the others, with no where near the functionality, and it's still slow and insecure and has most of IE's old problems.
IE really isnt that bad. I mean sure it has a good amount of problems, but the newest version dose not seem to be as bad as the previous. Of course firefox is still better :DAll IE7 seems to offer is tabs and apparently some security, it's still as bad as ever at doing anything useful, like processing javascript correctly, displaying websites correctly. Actually checking to see if a page has changed by default rather than assuming that dynamic pages never change.
But, belive it or not, Microsoft have an excuse. IE7 is actually an MSHTML renderer, and the only way to get valid MSHTML is to make your page in Publisher, FrontPage or Winword.
BTW, see this quote:
Some sites look nigh-identical in any browser. This is either because they didn't use (or avoided using) CSS that IE can't handle correctly, or, like Wikipedia, they discreetly (http://en.wikipedia.org//skins-1.5/monobook/IE50Fixes.css?24) use dozens (http://en.wikipedia.org//skins-1.5/monobook/IE55Fixes.css?24) of tweaks (http://en.wikipedia.org//skins-1.5/monobook/IE60Fixes.css?24) that attempt (http://en.wikipedia.org//skins-1.5/monobook/IE70Fixes.css?24) to fix IE (http://en.wikipedia.org/skins-1.5/common/IEFixes.js?24). All of these tweaks actually breach CSS2 standards, but are necessary due to the glut of IE users. One of those stylesheets has the comment "This bit is needed to make links clickable... WTF", perfectly illustrating how botched IE's CSS2 handling is.
The point he says at the end, in case you want proof, is proved on clicking on the word "attempt".

Why, what was it supposed to do? All those links worked the same, in both browsers.

Why, what was it supposed to do? All those links worked the same, in both browsers. That's the extra CSS that is needed to trick IE into displaying the pages correctly. In the main CSS there will be a bit which links to that file and includes it as CSS, but only if the user is using IE. Without it the page would be screwed up, not because the CSS is wrong, but because IE displays it wrong.
You really wouldn't believe how long it can take to get some sites, using CSS, working in IE. I think mine actually took longer to do that than produce the rest of the site.
totally irrelevant but LOL

So are several other browsers. Other Please State is probably the best way to include them. (Not that I can see anyone voting K-Meleon or Crazy Browser anyway)
Crazy Browser? Linkage?
Googling now
Found it
nvm
I used Crazy Browser from 2003-2005. They changed their name to AM Browser (www.ambrowser.com), BTW.
It's not a standalone program, but rather uses IE render engine underneath a tabbed interface.
I really loved it for it's 3 customizable shortcuts that supported wildcards to directly search on sites like Wikipedia, IMDB, dict.cc or Google.
When I switched to Firefox I couldn't emulate that functionality with plugins perfectly. But now I have discovered Firefox's extremely powerful keyword search support.

IE7 is actually an MSHTML renderer, and the only way to get valid MSHTML is to make your page in Publisher, FrontPage or Winword.ok, that's not an excuse, that's microsoft screwing up on the browser from start to finish. they didn't HAVE to make a browser with some obscure and isolated code that only accepts certain other code that no one uses.
and yes, I realize you're not promoting IE, but calling that an excuse so doesn't count :p

Get opera :p

It doesn't have extensions, but it doesn't really matter, because there is a list somewhere that basically said how easy it was to emulate firefox with the top 10 extensions in opera (as in, the features are already built in).
