Team17 probably doesn't have the rights or the altered code. Wizgate licensed it and they can do whatever their license allows them to do with it. I'm guessing they are not required to send any code to team17. I'm curious if it was a one time license fee and it would be interesting to know how much it would cost for another company to license it.
This was a deal with a Korean company for their territory only, sorry.
I'm wondering if T17 gets any money out of it, since the game is free of charge.
It was generously termed a "brand building exercise" which worked to some extent, however I can't imagine us repeating it.
OnlineWorms was specifically designed for Eastern countries only, as none of the other worms games were released there.

I don't see the big deal, it looks exactly like the 2nd Worms Generation.
Well, "Worms World Party Aqua" has some additional weapons. One of those underwater scooters, IIRC.
The only deal is that Worms should be united, it's turn based and doesn't need a good ping. Asian and rest of world in worms sucks so much. I want one big server for 2D worms. :x

What the hell? Does that exist? I need INFO!

I can't remember where I exactly read it. I think it was in this thread (http://forum.team17.co.uk/showthread.php?t=30793) or a link I followed.
Online Worms: World Party Aqua supposedly had buyable items. Maybe that's what it was.

Yes, the Korean, Chinese and Japanese versions of Online Worms were a direct port of W:A, while the Korean-only World Party Aqua was based on WWP and supposedly had additional items.

if it did, would it be possible to put it in WWP from a patch or somthing?

Deadcode... read that... WA...
I mean, sprites are done, coding is done... maybe converting is needed, but if there are extra weapons, they can be in!... in the next patch :p
I also saw that the worms in different teams... are dressed different (well, hair, hats and that :p)... any hope for that in WA?

Maybe.
AFAIR, CyberShadow contacted Cambridge Animation Systems and asked about the original sprite creation tool Animo. Can't remember the outcome though.
Without proper tools, editing the sprites would be a lot of work.

It'd be quite a lot of work even with the editors.
Maybe.

Animo was a total NIGHTMARE to use.
Animo was a total NIGHTMARE to use.
Really? Why? What was so bad about it?
Difficult, cumbersone, horrible interface. And that was just the NeXT Step o/s.
Most of the features being used for the worms sprites were dropped and unsupported soon after we started using it, so we never planned for anything more. We also had few people who used and understood it - it was an entirely different beast to the other tools and tech.
Did DC and CS get all unused sprites and other remnants from the art department with the source code?
Maybe there's still something lurking.
