it's fun, everyone keeps using it at my school too. and I saw the one with the eraser and turbo lines before. mind, a link would be nice.
how did it catch on so well? it's just a penguin like thing that rides down lines.
then again, the simplicity's probably the main pull of it.

Robowurmz gave away a strong hint in his post.

Ehrm, actually it's a little figure with a bobble hat and a red scarf riding down the winterly hills in Slovenia on a bobsleigh.
Ok, it's a fun little 10 minute toy, why are they turning it into ammunition for the PS and XBox fanboys?

I meant a link to FSK's journal.
...guess I'll find it myself.
Hmm...
I wonder how they were able to get it onto the Wii though...

The site says it's © 2007. Someone make a rip of the site and copyright it 2006;)

I think that games made by independent developers can be put on the shop channel.
And opinions probably don't mean much, but I didn't find Linerider very fun. No specific reason, I guess.
I think that games whose main draw is "They're simple and addictive" rarely draw me in.
I'll take a long, confusing, un-simple storyline anyday.
You rarely see flash games like that, though.

They ported YetiSports for the Playsation, that never did too well. Flash games stay on the internet - they rarely make it on consoles.

It would be quite funny if the line rider itself appeared in Smash Bros Brawl...
Ok, not playable, (no moves :p) but maybe a trophy...

Alien Hominid did fairly well.

Even though it isn't even an official third-party character.
Should they have a trophy of the Madness guy?
Or maybe the stick figure from Hapland. :p
I want Piconjo and Legendary Frog as playable characters.
...
Oh wait, no.
As for Line Rider, that flash game was only fun for 5 minutes once I was done launching him head on at a large group of vertical lines, which caused everything to lag like hell. It would just give PS3/360 fanboys reasons to whine about Wii having tons of 'non-games'.

that's true, yes.
I'd say linerider would come under the title "toy" more than "game"- as there's no objective in it, you just play with it.
Alien Hominid was good because it wasn't just a "simple yet addicting" (meh) thing. It was a prototype of a huge 2d platform/shooter game, while other Flash games are just meant as 3-minute time wasters. Line Rider is one of them. You all remember what happened when Elfbowl got a DS version, right?
However I'd like to see these (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/288598) two (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/304576) get actual console versions, especially the former.

It will be for the DS,too :p
But i never get this thing...when i write offical-linerider.com in the adress bar, only a stupid "What you need, when you need it" site comes up,you know...one of those sites that no-one knows about, but finds when they write a typo...

I'd say linerider would come under the title "toy" more than "game"- as there's no objective in it, you just play with it.Not that that's a bad thing, speaking as one who has bought into the Maxis "software toy" philosophy.
Maxis games are mostly different; you can always make your own objectives such as continuously increasing funds (or relationships in the overly milked The Sims series) so there is a point to everything. You can also make your own custom cities/ant farms/families, adding loads of replayability.
Line Rider on the other hand is just about making the guy fall differently and smash into a line harder every time. It's not something I'd want to pay for, even at a low, budget price, unless they add some really impressive platform-style objectives or something like that. It would be barely worth it if it was a 5 quid online code game.

Well, those two also plant marihuana on their home... so it may help...

Or die.
Your choice :p
I think I'm addicted to Line Rider. When it comes out for DS I'll be the first to buy it.
