The game version is Worms Armageddon 3.6.26.5 Beta

Explain what goes wrong. It could be interesting.

It is not surprising, of course. The game was not even originally written to work on Windows XP.

WTF? you have windows vista? it came out already?

Could the same fix work that helped XP users?

Actually Vista should have some emulation mechanism(changing compatibility mode) in it, Eks. Try looking for it.
almostsk8r, the beta version is out for months now.

Windows Vista is not out to the public, but it will be out on 30/01/07.

However, Windows Vista FINAL has been released to manufacturers already (e.g. Dell), and is on some MSDNAA and Microsoft Connect websites too (mainly in the USA).

I have a trial version of it (30 days), but am running it in a Virtual PC right now and haven't tried installing WA because of hard drive space issues (laptop with 58GB of space = bad, but my new 500GB drive will arrive tomorrow :D), but I will do soon.

(laptop with 58GB of space = bad, but my new 500GB drive will arrive tomorrow :D)Ah, I love the freedom of a 500GB drive. :) Sorry for off-topic posting. Don't bother responding to me.

Yeah, I bought an internal SATA 3Gbps one and a caddy (rather than an external one) so I can use it in any PC I build after I leave Uni.

But anyway...Worms is great! ;)

looks like you bought a 3gb hdd but receiving a 500gb hdd -.-'

and vista has been availible for ages... including the final version from various sources for the public to take xD

looks like you bought a 3gb hdd but receiving a 500gb hdd -.-'Franpa, stop using that face. That face implies a completely inappropriate emotion for most of the sentences in which you use it. It's almost insulting, and you overuse it. Check your posts made in the past month. You use it everywhere, so often, wrongly most of the time. I'm sorry for this rant, but this has been on my mind for a while now.

Also, you're wrong. When DragonQ said "3Gbps", he was describing the transfer speed that his SATA interface could perform.

Holy crap have emoticons gotten so important (~.^)c[ ]?

The initial Vista RC1 and RC2 builds have built-in timers that will expire July 2007, which is fine to fiddle around, don't know what's changed since then. Dual-installed the Japanese and English versions and have not really used them beyond that initial test. Worms worked fine with the patch.

That thing's meant to be a face? What emotion does it represent? "I am a one-eared cat"?

Heavens above, people, just use words to express emotion. Worked well enough for Wordsworth.

That thing's meant to be a face? What emotion does it represent? "I am a one-eared cat"?In most cases, it portrays something like, "I am tired of having to deal with people like you, who are so ignorant and/or incompetent.", though it has other meanings in some cases. In Franpa's case, it's totally hypocritical. The image is of someone with their head bent forward and eyes closed, with an animé-style sweat drop on the side of their head.

At least, that's my interpretation.

i depict the -.- as a tired person yawning... as thats the closest thing in messenger... and im aware emoticons existed prior to messenger... and i assume that -.-' is a tired face with a bead of sweat... nothing to do with leaning the head forward at all...

Mmm... I can get vista for free from my univ... but I don't want to be the one to work out all the bugs.

This subject has kind of trailed off topic a little. I would like to know if WA ended up working on vista or not. Because if not I am not going to bother getting it.Dose anyone know yet?

I use -.- whenever I'm bored, or when someone does something stupid or annoying.
Like if I'm on CS:S 1v1 and the other player challenges me to a knife fight, only to pull out a gun at the last moment and kill me. I'll just go like -.-
It would mean something like "that was completely uncalled for".
Or, "w*nker..."(cue Weebl and Bob).

Lex
20 Dec 2006, 23:12
Yes. Like I said, it is generally meant to point out one's annoyance with others, or boredom.

Pieboy337, littlebee mentioned that Worms Armageddon "worked fine with the patch" in Windows Vista.

I've always imagined franpa's emoticon to be an image of him falling asleep. It seemed appropriate, since most of what he says indicates he's half-asleep anyway. http://www.nanacide.com/images/Emoticons/laugh.gif

now now, although i must agree that franpa does say things without thinking and without knowledge, having a go at him or takin the mick out of him on a forum is not the way to go about things. He has feelings too you know. Its better that you ignore him, if you feel he has saod something silly, instead of belittling him people. And remember, it is christmas:)

Lex

Run just wants prevent misinformation being given to newbies, which is a very good-natured goal. If pointing out Franpa's faults honestly makes Franpa realize he's doing something wrong and try to change, then Run is achieving his goal.

I, on the other hand, was just being picky. I believe I was right in doing so (to stop hypocrisy), but I'm also sorry that I hurt feelings. I wish I could be picky without hurting feelings.

The game really doesn´t work under Windows Vista. Where can I get that patch??

salty1
30 Jul 2007, 17:16
I have same problem. WA doesn't work under vista for me. I downloaded the latest beta update, which doesn't work; I downloaded the old beta update, that dididn't work; and I tried the game from the CD (no patches/updates), which also did not work. If I have the updates installed, I get a differant error though. The game pops up a window that says to check the error.log file for specs on why WA didn't work. I looked up all of the codes on the internet and none of them helped. I found nothing that applied to worms (or anything even related such as graphics, sound, or DX). If I do not run the updates, just the original game from the CD, it still doesn't work, but the screen flickers between black, grey, and off a few times, then a window pops up from vista saying that "Worms Armageddon has stopped working". Windows attempts to find a solution for it, but fails. Does anyone have any ideas?

edit
---
Sorry, forgot to add system specs

OS: Windows Vista Home Premium

PROCESSOR: Intel Duo Core 1.86 GHz (driver version 6.0.6000)

GRAPHICS: Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset

DirectX version: 9.1

RAM: 2 gigabytes

HDD: 160 gig (Partitioned into two halves, 35 gig free on one and 47 gig free on the other)

GRAPHICS CAPABILITIES: Graphics card/ram/processor are all very capable to run windows vista aero effects and do so flawlessly when enabled (to save processing power and cut load times, I leave them turned off).

There you all go. I hope that helps in some way.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Salty

commpress and upload the errorlog file. The WA developers may be able to help.

ERRORLOG.TXT isn't meant to be used by the user, unless you're a programmer. You can try posting the file here and I'll tell you where it's failing.

SilPho

Perhaps in the next update you could change the text of the errortxt dialogue box to say something like:

"Worms: Armageddon has produced an errorlog.txt in the main worms directory which contains debugging information for the developers, if this problem continues please vist the Team17 forums and post your errorlog text file".

Hi all. I downloaded warms: Armageddon a few days ago. I'm not having any problems with it crashing or freezing.

It's just that everytime i use it the colors in the game get all messed up. I've tried every single combo of resolution and color depth allowed by my laptop. nothing seems to work.

colors can be inverted, messed up, weird sky colors. it's not always the same thing. keeps changing everytime. sometimes it's fine but mostly it's messed up.

I have vista home premium btw.
Intel Core 2 dou T7200
2Gb RAM
Geforce 7600 512mb

if anyone can help me to fix this problem it'll be great. thanks.

Before we can help you, where did you download it from? Trymedia?

I ask because Trymedia normally doesn't work, but maybe it does on Vista...
