EDIT: Well first there's N.

Challenging, VERY VERY VERY addicive, and powered by a Physics engine made in heaven.

You play as a little Ninja stickman thing in a simple looking platform world rebounding off walls and doing other cool moves at relatively high speed while dodging hazards such as mines and robots that will instantly kill you.

The dowloaded version also has a level editor so you can make your own levels and share them with others online.

EDIT2: Next up, this game called Line Rider.

It's nothing as big as N. It's just a small flash game made by some guy on Deviant Art, yet its rather addictive and popular to.

What happens is, you draw a black and white line picture or track of some sort and a little physics-enabled guy on a sledge rides down it. Sounds boring, but it's quite fun for a while.

Though it's hard to make anything terribly exiting yourself, if you click on one of the links in the maker's post under the game you can see what others have done in YouTube; and there's some pretty amazing stuff out there.

PS: I've just come across a very funny little Line rider video. It's a track called "tumbling".
It starts with a demented looking track where the rider tumbles about with the track maker cleverly placing the next line so he bounces through the track without hurting himself.
About half way through, he starts going up a steady to slope coming to a hand-drawn flaming wizard who is bellowing "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!".
It's all about timing, just as you finish reading this, the rider loses momentum and falls back down the slope again.
It made me cry with laughter strangely.

Just as the name implies, defend your castle. Pick up enemy soldiers and fling them into the air with your mouse. Laugh as they splat messily on the ground. Buy a temple, and then drop the enemies into your castle to have them join your cause. Fantstic fun. In fact, I'm off to play it now...

N is a BRILLIANT game, I used to play it :D Ive got to about level 70 and have a couple of maps I made which Ill go find...

Linerider is nice too :)

Try doing stuff at higher speed.
Try making your own levels.
Try some of the really hard levels.
Try some user levels.
ETC! Just do more than 3 levels mate, cause it's a great game.

It's called Toribash. Getting the full version requires a fee but dowloading the free demo (which shows you quite alot, you can even do online play!) only takes a few seconds.

It's a turn based game based on kung-fu-style fighting. You have your figure with a little ball in every major joint of the body. Left/right wrist, Left/right elbow, abs, knees, torso etc.
To do your moves you have to give every seperate joint a command to either stay stiff, go floppy, expand or contract. Then you hit the space bar and watch the next 10 frames of animation. If Your moves are going well, you carry on with your crusade. And if things are going badly you can attempt to pull out of it but sometimes it isn't possible, and it's hard to use the commands to stand up streight again.

The stuff done in the gaming world though is often extremely violent with blood flying everywhere and limbs and head pulled off. Sometimes the best moves for the situation involve sacrificing an arm or two.

Yes, and I suck at it. I either just jab my arm into the opponent to watch him bleed, or end up ripping my own body parts out.

Yeah, about that. You never said anything about it so I never put you in the crdits. Sorry. As for the difficulty, it's meant to be hard. It wouldn't be fun if it wasn't. Hopefully it's not frustrating though.

Well OK, maybe not loads of sounds, but if you kill somebody with the baseball bat, hit somebody with a mallet, or knock them into the water on the ice stage, I think you'll recognise those sounds. There may be more, but I've yet to hear them...

I thought they sounded a bit the same too, but WHACK, TWACK and SMACK rarely have a unique sound.

Nice one. Kept me busy for a short time and was fun all the way through.

I died on the first "boss battle" bit kicks in where music starts playing and you are against 3 ships.

Just toggle 'adult content' off. But you won't do that, will you?

Srsly, forget the rating, it's one of the best games ever. The nudity comes later, your focus on the gameplay comes first.

This game isn't actually anywhere on the interenet yet, as I JUST finished and uploaded it :D (ok, so it is on the interenet NOW, but whatever)

I KNOW that it is VERY basic, but considering what little programming I know I'm fairly pleased with it anyway :D It turned out to be more fun to create than play, but oh well.

It's OK, but there's not much to it. The engine seems solid enough, although it would be nice to have numbers come up when you hit the enemy or they hit you FF-style, so you could really see how much difference putting up your attack stat makes.

And UberFruits that level you up 5 levels make it too easy. Level up items are normally bad in RPG's unless they are really hard to get, like the Level-up powders from Dark Chronicle, and even then you only level up once.

The layout of the 'map' is a bit naff in my opinion. It would be nice if the monsters moved and more than 1 could appear at a time, although you'd need to try and balance it.

But most importantly, you need more than just 1 attack. You really really do. Tht's what makes it boring. And an EQUIP section would be nice too. Otherwise, keep it up. RPG's arent easy to make, so I've heard. I tried to make one in Game Maker once. That idea lasted 2 hours.

It is indeed, very simple, when I get round to a second game (or possible adapting this one) I intend to have far more stuff to do
