Hey... I'm new here. Yes, I asked a guard about introducing myself, and he told me I could just make a new thread if I wanted. So I will.

Don't worry. I'm no noob who asks stupid questions and double posts. I know how exactly to behave on a forum from experience. I have been pretty interested in the Worms games for a couple of years now, and I finally decided about joining the forum. I'm pretty sure I'll be active here, since I just got Worms Armageddon a few days ago and have been playing it since. These games have to be the most in depth strategy games I have ever played, and I'm not lying about that.

Well, anyway, hello.

also, I figured they might actually have some way of finding MAPP after reading my post, so I just mentioned that. besides, it's worth the read for several other reasons as well.

Not that it's actually racist. It's an anecdote about a grandmother who's a little behind the times talking about her favourite sweet (whose new, politically correct name, is "Liquorice Babies"), and the young Bryson's embarassment as a result.

And thank goodness too; removing them jsut for that would likely to create MORE racism.

Well no, but it would be about as helpful as the bah bah rainbow sheep thing, or insisting black coffee be called coffee without milk, or calling black boards chalk boards, etc, on accounts of it not remotely being racist in the first place.
Frankly, I think any black person who would be offended by the use of the perfectly normal word 'black' to refer to things of a certain colour deserves to be offended, but frankly I doubt there is anyone like that.

They're not like gummy sweets though (at least that I understand, do you mean like haribo?), they're not properly chewy. They're more soft and hard to describe due to not being like anything much else.

Yes jellybabies are slightly different - the centre is softer/a bit gooier (but I don't mean that in the sense that the inside oozes out I just mean that the centre is less fixed in place. ie. if you squish a jellybaby the centre will squeeze out a bit. Do that with a gummy bear and nothing happens. Jellybabies also taste different) and the outside is quite crisp in comparison. It is hard to explain.

I agree that it was a cock up on McDonald's part and they should be made to make sure it doesn't happen again, but I hardly think the woman was entitled to 100 grand. I mean, on what grounds did she sue? Assuming she was mentally stable, she can't claim it traumatised her and I hardly think it inconvenienced her, the most she deserved was a complementary packet of nuggets.

Rather, I think McDonald's should have been fined by whatever type of food standards agency they have in the US.

Good point. Although little beats good take-away food. The chippy will always provide one of my favourite meals Don't forget pizza takeaways, like Domino's. I hate McDonalds and the like, but chippies and fast food pizza places are great. :D

THE FOOD IS NOT NICE.

I hate McDonalds and the like, but chippies and fast food pizza places are great. :D
I've yet to experience a chippy that can actually do nice chips. Or fish.

As for dominos and the like, paying a tenner for what boils down to a cheese sandwhich is not my idea of fun. It'd soften the blow somewhat if they didn't use the horrible grease-laden spongey crap pizza bases.

Seriously, whan you can get a decent-enough (i.e. BETTER) frozen pizza from tescos for a quarter of the price I'll never understand why anyone would want to order takeaway pizza, unless they where drunk, or just plain didn't have an oven.

In my opinion The best takeay food you can get is KFC. I know they're probably just as bad as burger king and all, but at least you can identify what you're eating as part of an animal. Unless you get popcorn chicken, but why would anyone do that?

I've yet to experience a chippy that can actually do nice chips. Or fish. I suppose that depends on what you like, if you don't like thick, greasy chips you're not going to like a fish'n'chip shop very much. Still, I much prefer them to the thin American style fries at McDonald's. They are usually a bit too soggy though.

I have no problems with their fish or sausages either, but the thing about takeaway is it's cheap and quick and requires no work whatsoever. Although, I'm don't really discriminate between good food or decent food; as long as it's edible and not disgusting I'm just as content, so I'm probably not the best judge.
Still, I know I could have a better meal at home, but Fish and chips is for when you're away from home and hungry, or quite frankly are too knackered to cook but want a hot meal.
As for dominos and the like, paying a tenner for what boils down to a cheese sandwhich is not my idea of fun. It'd soften the blow somewhat if they didn't use the horrible grease-laden spongey crap pizza bases.

Firstly, I for one like thick based pizzas, I find them much tastier than the thin ones you get at real Italian places.
Secondly, I agree frozen pizzas from your local Sainsbury's are just as good (I don't think better), but again, when are you ever going to have takeaway pizza apart from when you're not at home, or are watching a film with some mates and can't be arsed to cook?

Good chippies are rare, but when you find one, they're bloody amazing! There's a Seafare a little way away from me, they've won quite significant awards in the past and their food is amazing. Mostly fairly crisp chips, very few little bitty bits, and lovely crisp tastey battered fish and sausages too. They chippy that's nearest me on the other hand, sucks. Soggy chips and naff fish.

Technically I think you'd be allowed to take one on the A3 if it was all properly lisenced with a numberplate and whatnot.

It's the sort of thing which is on my "Things I'd like to do but I know I never will" list. Along with the steam powered Robin Reliant.

...but why steamrollers exactly?

I'd love to own a steamroller. Then I could roll over stuff.

I've done it. They're painfully slow. And most no longer use steam, simply vibrations of the roller to compress the ground

Modern rollers are boring; steam rollers have a better whistle.

Boring? It's the crushing part that you should concentrate on, and I think that doesn't get less fun with newer models of rollers.

Just think of all the things you could flatten... Sounds like a cheesy super villian could be born from this... "The world is too bumpy, I am going to flatten it with my army of steamrollers! Muhahahaha"

Modern rollers are boring; steam rollers have a better whistle.I was indeed thinking of the old steam ones.

How do you feel they compare with, say, traction engines?

MrBunsy

How do you feel they compare with, say, traction engines?Pretty much on par, steam engines flattern things, but traction engines are the predecessors to tractors. Although I once saw a small catapiler tracked tracton engine and I think that definatly wins over all.

Real steam and traction engines are louder, but the miniture ones are much more fun!

Since when has 'usen' been a word? :p

And one type is over two centuries older than the other.

Since when has 'usen' been a word?
Since the verb "to use" has been changed to inflect by ablaut instead of tense.
That happened around yesterday morning. I also have to get usen to it.

I was expecting that to be wrong but nope, it's right. Full marks for research. ;)

Traction engines are annoying when you get stuck behind them at the local rally like I did last year

You can run over people in a steam ruler/roller!

Maybe, but I would have thought a steam roller would be much easier and lots more fun.

We're talking about running stuff over.

mining trucks can reach quite high speeds withoud any load. And people can not escape the Huge Tires!!11

But in a tank, you could fire something at the person o knock him dows, then run him over :p

I assume you're thinking of a different type of mining truck to me. You don't mean small trucks which carry coal/slate/ore and run on rails do you?

I was expecting that to be wrong but nope, it's right. Full marks for research. I think that steam power might be even older than that actually, but steam locomotives are about 2 centuries old.

And trust me, there's more than one off the wall poster around here. I for one, fell off of the stupid post truck while it was going down to the shops. They found me somewhere around the Sega of America building.:p

I hope you have fun around here, and why not try playing around with fanart!

Steam power is, that was used back in greek and roman times, but the first steam engine that could move under its own power was developed in the 1700's. Then stopped after it smashed down a wall. :o
