Could someone give me the name of a free painting program that could let me load an image which has a custom palette embedded into it? (and paint it. I know IrfanView can load the palette)

Hmm...looks very good. Pity the trial's only for one month though...
Indeed. OpenCanvas is great. Also has a nice feature that let's you save event files.
For example theese two:

That page also contains a custom Photoshop brush set that is very good and very popular..

IIRC the very first version of OC is a freeware... have fun turning the internet upside down to find yourself a copy of that one... :)

Pro Motion is very cheap (US$ 29.95) and is a brilliant tool for creating sprites and handling palettes.

If you have Photoshop, this palette should work for you.

Hey guys, don't worry anymore. The guy that put my compy together has my PSP 8 cd and he's gonna find it. Until then, I'm fine using the 60-day trial! ;)
