I've played the Japanese version of that game once.
Nothing new though, as these games are based on W2 and WWP.

Yeah, it's pretty much W2/WA/WWP with a Gunbound-like online system. This includes having fixed game modes, so I'd suggest sticking with the standards unless you desperately wanna get in touch with the asian community.

According to this thread (http://forum.team17.co.uk/showthread.php?t=30793) the Japanese version has died a year ago.

AFAIR, when I played the game (4-5 years ago) I just set my location to Japan in Windows regional settings.

There are new weapons and utilities though, bow machinegun, aqua jetpack, new gameplay aspects like worms ending turn and staying in bubbles.

I've heard it's dead now, last time i was on (this year) there was 2 or 3 people online at most.

All the more reason to try and get inside and capture some stuff! "Fixed game modes" also doesn't sound bad up against the extremely rigid schemesets accepted on wormnet.

Yakuza, what operating system were you running when you connected to Online Worms (Japan)?

Some of the add-ons mentioned, and the in-game dash, from Korean "World Party Aqua" sequel/expansion to Online Worms:

Awesome.

I was using Windows XP.

That aimer thing is really boring though, as it allows you to easily notch (it shows a red line with the trajectory of the nade and the power you need to hit the target)

That does take the fun out of it! Sounds like a band or a magic trick: "The (Nearly) Cheating Dolphin."
