I do not know enough about how Worms games are made/coded to paste an IP Address into the game, but I have a made a little program that will copy your IP Address to the clipboard instantly upon running it, which is more useful IMO since you can paste the IP Address into WLM, AIM etc. to tell your friends what your IP Address is. However, I've also made versions that run WA immediately after copying is complete.

IP Address Copier (copies your IP Address to the clipboard) - Version 1.1

Download HERE! (http://dragonq.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/IP Address Copier.exe)

Worms Armageddon IP Address Copier (loads Worms Armageddon after copying your IP Address to the clipboard) - Version 1.1

Download HERE! (http://dragonq.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Worms Armageddon IP Address Copier.exe)

It appears WWP doesn't support pasting. Oh well.

(NOTE: All versions require the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 - available through Microsoft Update or HERE (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=262d25e3-f589-4842-8157-034d1e7cf3a3&displaylang=en))

I would appreciate ALL feedback, suggestions, problems, errors etc. about this program, so please provide some! :)

I suppose you forgot the fact that you can't paste the contents of the clipboard, on WWP, as far as I know.

What do you mean? CTRL+V works in all Worms Armageddon dialog boxes that you'd want to paste the IP into (DirectIP and Chat Boxes) - why wouldn't it for WWP (it's a newer game!)?

Actually... the ability to copy/paste was added to WA way after WWP had been released.

And for what it's worth, I think www.no-IP.com does a splendid job with everything related to active IP's.

Acknowledged.

Hmm, this "no-IP" thing might help me with my hosting problem. How exactly do you set it up?

Sign up for free, choose your redirect address, download the dynamic update client, enter your account info, set the client to auto-start with Windows.
Use your redirect address instead of your IP address from now on everywhere you need it.
(If you are able to enter characters other than numbers, which is not the cause for the Battlefield 2 dedicated server, for example. Blargh! :p)

Nor is it the case for WWP unfortunately. So No-IP will not work for WWP.

DragonQ: your program should set the IP in the registry, as that should work for WWP.

Not wholly correct.
The force IP box in WWP's network options doesn't support the dash/minus character (-), but it does support letters.
I use a xxx.servegame.com from the No-IP service.

The No-IP client can handle multiple redirects (5 in the free version, IIRC).

I've never been able to use anything else that an IP addresse in WWP config.

Otherwise, I would not have coded WWPLaunch.

Oh whoops, yeah you can type such an address into the box, but I haven't had any luck getting it to work.
