Very nice. Work on poses, look at how others draw worms to get some ideas, and try colouring one, which would bring out your style better than line drawing.

The is the first worm I've ever colored! First I drew and colored the worm and the barrel on paper, then I added some touches to it in Photoshop. BTW, I like the new style much better than the old one. Thankz to u, Likety! ;)

I'm a great fan of Worms Mayhem, so I play the game very often. I've always been fo fascinated of the aliens who plop out of the UFO every time I UFO' a group of worms. So I picturized it... First on paper, then painted + added effects in Photoshop.

Huntakilla hasn't been here in ages, so it would be fair to also mention Jjar and especially Batterychicken, the latter being one of the most professional comic artists this forum has ever seen. Also, Cosmico and Thnikk probably beat most people in facial expressions.

Don't worry, it's not that bad. Requests on this forum are usually just requests to have a particular customised worm in any pose, on any backround.
We call them sigworms, they represent the forum members. Nearly all members have one, and only one. And you might want to make one yourself.

and yes, a pimp has already been done, but there are vastly different looks between the two. they look very little alike, and as others stated, slick hasn't drawn his sig in the hat in god only knows how long.....actually, I think that comic you posted was one of the last few times, so it's been 2 years. look at all the bandana-worms. they all look vastly different despite having something in common. the only thing that slick and this one have in common is the hat, and even that is vastly different.

honestly, the ONLY similarity I see between slick and zonic is the fact that they are themed the same. if you were to look around, there's quite a lot of that.

edit: just looked at the profile he posted for the worm and it doesn't even really seem to be much of a pimp. he's just a "hood rich" type guy. so even the pimp thing would be thrown out of that's the case.

All i say is: if i looked at that picture and it had no description or whatsoever, i'd automatically assume it's a pic of slick's sig. If you or anybody else thought so too, then i'm pretty they're equal enough to worth changing.the hell? you could look at that sig and thing it was a drawing of slick?! HOW?! as I said, the only thing the two have in common is the pimp-esque hat. there is absolutely nothing else similar between the two. I can possibly see how you could think that they're too similar, but to say that looking at this drawing that looks absolutely nothing like slick's sig would make you think it is, in fact, a drawing of said worm is just ridiculous. that would be like confusing my sig and yours because they both wear bandanas. the hats in question aren't even the same color much less the same shape or size. slick has no rings to speak of much less a chain or a hat with glowing letters.

if you look at an image and see only the basic theme of that image I could understand, but unless your eyes have evolved to some different dimension there's no way to say that the two sigs LOOK identical.

PLEASE explain to me how on earth you could think this drawing was one of slick. I'd love to know how you see the two as THAT similar.

See? I mean, if we were to look at the basics, who'd want to draw one more single worm?! Definitely not me!
It's because of the details, the complexity. The different variants. Some worms are tall, some short (Slick's worms, for instence), some fat, some thin, some funny, some sad, I mean the expressions, the details, the picture as a whole.

That's my opinion, not just because I 'want my sigworm back', but because that's what Ir eally, really think.

Well, I'm happy you can tollerate it, but this is not about your 'image'. We all know that you're a great and talented and creative artist, Slick. You've been here for how long? :p So that's safe.
I just don't want these guys (nor you), to get the wrong impression of me. I think you'd be just as disappointed after doing your best on one piece, then being scolded by people for copying another artist's work, without the intention of doing it. Very gently spoken, I really don't like to get misunderstood.

BTW, I really got a great life, so that's safe, m8. ;)

Who actually gives a crap? Seriously? Zonic, draw whatever the hell you like. You've got the potential of being a very good artist, if that's your first photoshop pic then I for one would really like to see what they look like after some practice.

The only similarity is the fact they both have purple hats. But if I can remember right, slick's is a lighter purple, with black dots, and some sort of feather (or did I see that somewhere else). But the personality could be different, so you have that! :) Sigworms are what the way you want it, that's why they're sigworms.

Here's a little update of my sigworm; didn't like the shading in the last pic, and since *certain* people kept complaining of my sig and Slick's pimp similarity, I added something extra to mine - something that Slick's DOESN'T have. O=)

Oh, and BTW, from now on, I'm arragning this game called "Spot the difference" (I'm sure you know what it is, I'll drop explaining the game rules). It's my pimp and Slick's pimp (go to Slick's art and click on Slick Expressions on the first page).

Pigbuster, thank you very, very, very much for the very, very, very motivating compliment.
The lighting? Well, I used the airbrush to give the jewels some lit edges (using the ordinary white color). Then I created a new layer, rendered a lens flare, duplicated it several times, put them at different desired spots, and voilà! (Took me some time to duplicate all those lens flare-layers, though). I set all the lens flare-layers to Color Dodge (I think).

That's all...!:)

What I do is that I make a layer over all of the others.
Then I take a fuzzy brush, and the color white, and paint where the lights go.
Then you change the transparency of the layer to around 50% or so.

That should be easier than copying a lens flare over and over.

I hadn't heard the guy's defense back then... but yeah, i actually did say he was ripping of people's ideas. Slick's one of the most known and drawn worms around here, so not knowing he has a pimp worm is a bit hard to believe. But since this "ripping off people's idea" issue is hard to prove cause it's just his word agains't other people's then i guess we should leave it like this.

About the argument being dead, i don't know if you noticed but i can't come here everyday, so i was just commenting over the replies saying "OMG...his sig looks nothing like slick's".

Now be happy and do whatever you please, cause i don't intent to come back to this thread to argue any further. My opinion about this issue is known now and that's about all i could do. ;)

The pimp, with a fluffy hat and bling etc, is a steryotype. Drawing himself as a pimp might have been slick's idea, but what a steryotypical pimp looks like is not. One might as well say, if I draw a slow, lurching, brain-eating zombie, I'm ripping off zombie films. How can you accuse someone of idea theft if the idea they 'steal' is a common cliche used by everyone?
