But it's still Team17 related BECAUSE of that doodle. :p But since Aku's beats the inards out of mine's, I'll make a new one, IF I can be bothered. And that's a big fat IF.

Oh, and way to go Aku, but it looks like a lot of copy work...yes, the soldiers were copied....someone shoot me for I am evil....the soldiers are kinda there to fill space to make the image make sense, not to be fancy. look at the image as a whole, don't focus on just the flaws....aside from the squadron of soldiers, NOTHING in that image is copied. I drew everything there, and I just copied the soldiers so that things would make sense as a whole. if I wasn't going for a war look I could've avoided the copying, but redrawing the exact same thing 100 times just to try for the exact same look on each one seems a little pointless...I HAD considered facial expressions and some slight differentiation, but the soldiers are mostly covered so expressions wouldn't help, and if they were in different positions then it would lose the look of them being at attention in one solid unit, which was the way things were done in the middle ages.

Team17 fan art would be fan art based on something produced by team17 in some respect. team17 creates video games, therefore fan art of team17 has to have a character, costume, item or story created by team17 to make it fan art. team17 created this forum, yes, but they didn't create its members, or said members' personal avatars used in said forum and drawing those avatars is only fan art if it is done in such a way that also represents a team17 product. drawing humans wearing the same thing as the worms we've made up is fan art of the forum/forumers, yes, but it is not fan art based on Team17 as it has absolutely nothing to do with Team17 itsself but rather it's focused on the fans of said games. now, if you had drawn humans in a world that looks and acts similar to the world of worms and had done so in a way that depicts a battle similar to the type found in a worms game, THAT would be fan art playing on a work of team17, but the minute you stop using anything at all based on things present in, and unique to, the original games manufactured by Team17 it ceases to be Team17 fan art and just becomes art related to fans of a Team17 product. it may SOUND like a small difference, but it is a very, very large one.

yes you did.. Wrong there. I say it wasn't TEAM17 related which makes all the difference. For example: You are a blood relative of your mother's sister (if she has one). You are not a blood relative of her husband. Drawing a worms character is the same way as being related to your mum's sister. Drawing a forum person in non-Team17 game style is the same way as not being a blood relative of your mum's sister's husband. The line has to be drawn at the blood relatives or you could then say that your mum's sister's husband's grandfather's sister's daughter's husband's cousin's son's step daughter is related to you and you could keep going on forever.

I could draw anything I like and make it related to Team17:

A toilet: Team17 member's (hopefully) use toilets
An electron: Plenty of those at Team17 HQ
A scribble on a piece of paper: I'm sure Team17 members have scribbed on some paper before

If I took a photo of myself and submitted it to Team17 fanart do you really think that it would class as Team17 fanart? It is not "blood" related to Team17. Worms drawings of a forumer are because they are worms - art from a game made by Team17. I am not art of something that Team17 created.

Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt and put it in my sig.

It looks to me that we've got a similar situation to the one we had back in august with cosmoco and mav, but on a larger scale and with the added complication of everyone bashing one of the artists for no good reason.

On the one hand we have the awesome picture from aku that he obviously poured his heart and soul into and is pretty damn impressive. on the other we have the no-less impressive picture from slick that's been flashed like nobody's business and look the business too.

I'm sorry to say that Aku's still got my vote. I'm going with the piece of art that seems more impresive to me.I don't think I could do a picture simillar to Aku's without learning a lot of new techniques, whereas I could probably do something similar to slicks picture fairly easily in comparason (although I'd do it in photoshop because flash is a constant mystery to me:p ).

So to me at least Akuryou's piece is a more impressive acomplishment.

It seems unlikely to me that we'll end up with another draw this time (although I msuspect a lot of people voted for mav because of my incredibly impartial poll), as everyone's going to vote slick.

Still, It makes a nice change to actually have more than one real quality picture this month.

Just because I got it done in a relitive amount of time dosent mean it was easy. :p
I had like 20 layers, and it was done in flash. Trust me, it was frustrating as hell to get everything just right. I spent at least a whole hour on just the mountains in the back. I had to make a copy of the sky and have it set to Alpha to get the tint in the background. And I had to cut the sections of the sky up and have them a slightly diffrent shade so it didn't interfere with the origanal background. And that was only that.
I don't care if you vote for him, go right ahead. But don't say that this was just some easy thing to do and that I didn't try. That's just ****ing me off.:p

Edit: Well I kinda missread a couple of posts. Point still stands though.

I don't want votes based on the fact that I spent a lot of time on the image, I was votes because my image is, in your opinions, the better one. I don't want the time taken to come into account when it gets to voting unless you just cannot decide which you like better and you end up chosing based on time spent out of desperation.

Basically, CHOOSE A DAMN PIC AND GET ON WITH IT. :p
