Just thougt I'd let everyone know that Introversion's third game, Defcon, has just been released! Been playing it all evening, it's fantastic! Thermonuclear war with a nifty soundtrack.

Grab the demo and join me... I think I'm gonna end up addicted to this one :D

Any game about a thermonuclear war has to be good.

Yeah, I played some last night. Very dramatic.

The BigWorld mode is fun. Double map size and twice as much of everything.

In my first game online (unrelated to the picture) we played 2vs2. I was USA and my teammate was South America, we where fighting against Russia and Asia. When the game was almost over I saw that I was only in second place and my teammate was in the lead, so I broke the alliance and nuked all of his cities by our border. I won the match

It's fun if you love strategy games, trying to outwit your oponents. The gameplay technique is pretty easy to pick up, play through the tutorial and you know how everything works. But trying to use that to win is where the skill comes in. Someone likened it to chess: relatively simple rules, but unlimited number of ways it can play out.

I really dislike the naval battles. I have to wait about 10 minutes for my ships to move to the right spot.

I loved Darwinia, but I think I'll skip this. Not really a big fan of strategy.

I get awfully frustrated, always getting the left and right mouse buttons mixed up, and waiting forever for stuff to happen.

I pre-ordered it through Steam (£5 games-on-preorder for the win), did the tutorial and a game against the AI (which is unfortunately too easy to beat), and I realised it was 2:30am. I eagerly await for my first multiplayer game. Look out for the Reaprian Corp in-game. Especially since it's likely I'll lag out due to spectacular router errors.
