I'm looking for the filter files from Photoshop 5.5 or lower (preferably version 5.5, but nothing higher than that). I don't need the program itsself, but if you know where I can get a demo or something of the program that'll serve my purpose just fine. if you have photoshop 5.5 yourself, then I ask that you come up with a way for you to send the filter files to me through mail or on a site or whatever else works for you.

if you're wondering, I need these files to import into my FireWorks 8 demo that I snagged to decide whether it's worth buying or not. in fireworks 8 I can import photoshop filters from any version of photoshop older than 5.5, but I can't seem to find the program or the files myself, so help is needed.

thanks to those who can help.

edit: and if it matters, I have photoshop 7 on my computer, so if there's a way to back-track or something lemme know.

Does photoshop =< 5.5 even have good filters?

I don't know how much it is worth to you, but I can't think of any other (legal) way.

http://www.photoshop-filters.com/index.htmessentially, yes, but I'm also looking for the ones that come with photoshop. one of the ones I would like to be able to use is lens flare, and I've yet to find any of the official stuff outside of the official file which I can't use.

Looks like Wormthingy might have it for you, but if not might I suggest the local pawn shop? Last time I was at mine I think they had two versions, 4 and 9 I believe. Who knows, you might get lucky.

I might be able to get a copy to you if my Communication Design professor has a copy, which he might. But I won't be able to see him to ask until Monday, and he may not have it. If he does though, he'll probably give it to me. (I'm sure he owned a copy at one time, and I don't think he tends to throw stuff out.)

oddly enough, horigan, I don't think we HAVE a local pawn shop in the area. I live in a back-woods town in louisiana. to get to a town with any kind of shopping I have to drive at least 40 miles, and I'm fairly sure there's no pawn shop there either.

Nope, afraid that didn't pan out. Sorry, not sure how to help you. :-/

alright, well thanks to those who tried to help, but I got what I needed from BlameThePixel. someone apparently had a spare copy of photoshop 5.5 (yay convenient), and sent me and the pope the files for fireworks. I ended up with all but I think 2 or 3 of the filters I'm aware of (lens flare included... :( ).

anyway, thanks for the help/attempted help.

thomas, andrew, feel free to lock this now if you guys want. if you don't see this or don't feel like it, oh well.

(lens flare included... :( ).

I think you mean  .

Seriously. Use it in every image.
And make sure to use the burn tool.

Then you will be a true artist.
