View Full Version : strange worms happenings
I have a feeling there was a thread about this before, but the search button is invisible :p
I have a small story on what I think was the funniest.
This was in Worms 2
I used to only play multiplayer games where everything was set to max. Because everything was set to max, I couldn't view replays, and didn't read the manual. Also, my brother insisted that when worms drowned, they went to a place where they watched the rest of the match on TV screens. Anyway, I decided to start the missions. I did a killing shot, and anyone who has played worms 2 will know the replays look like a TV screen. I saw a replay, and burst out laughing (because of that thing my brother kept insisting).
Post your strange worms happenings here!

First of all, WTF? I don't get it. So what if it looks like a TV screen? So what if you/your brother have a theory about dead worms? I just don't get all of this. Perhaps you could elaborate more?
PS: Don't critize me about not playing W2 because it happens to be my favorite.
Perhaps Muzer's definition of "strange" is far more obscure than yours. :p
Muzer, it is interesting to see a window into your thought patterns. :)

It probably felt at the time, in a non-serious way, like the game had been listening to them and presented a replay in the form of a tv, as if the dead worms were watching the game on a tv.
I also concur with Lex.
I also liked this story because it's not of the usual "I threw a HHG on myself and I died LOL" kind.

I threw a HHG on myself and I died LOL
I've never heard that before but that hilarious! LOLOLOLOL!
Muzer's post has some philosophical background.
What if we are actually dead worms on the bottom of the ocean only watching other worms fighting on a television screen and actually have no influence?

Unless they Kamikaze into the water. Then they'd probably take out a couple of worms with them. :p
I was playing a SheepBnG ages ago and I was on the ropes. Things were well against my favour. I had one worm left and had used all of my limited weapons (bar the teleports), so I decided to strategise. After about 10 turns of moving, terraforming and health collecting I was ready to take a last stand and, fingers crossed, win the game. I took a few hits before I was able to teleport to the spot I'd scouted - a small knot of land hovering over a mine. This, of course, was perfect as I would have been high enough above the mine to not land in its proximity should I have been knocked off my foothold.
It's just a shame that foothold was actually background terrain and I plummeted through it, straight onto the mine.
Bugger.

I killed a worm, he landed in the water, I killed another worm, he landed on top of the drowning one. the drowning worm exploded and nearly saved the worm on top of him.
I'm bored

Try this in WWP or any other 2-d worms games with freeze and that mode:
Set a mode so that you can use more than one weapon in a turn.
Throw a Holy Hand Grenade as high as you can, then freeze yourself. The holy hand grenade will come back down directly on top of you, then explodes. This might be the highest you've ever seen a frozen worm fly. It's also effective near enemy worms :D
You could also freeze a worm on a high platform with a small platform beneath it and set a banana bomb there with the other team.

That's impossible.

Not neccesarily random, but one of the random worm names you sometimes get in Worms: Open Warfare is Holy Sock, which could be related in some way to my Holy Sock Puppet. Does that count?

2 worms left, loads of the enemy, and the games wasnt going my way until I got armageddon in a crate. I prompty drilled down as close to the water as I could get, teleported both my worms into the hole, and set it off. Needless to say I blew apart most of the land that was left and consigned practically all my enemies to the water. Mine took a bit of radius damage, but stayed high and dry.
Then the damage killed the one on low health, who promptly blows my last worm into the water with his death explosion. A draw.
Hehehehe, fierce.
The lesson learnt: You only need one worm to to win a game. In a situation like that you can ignore the rest.

I was playing Worms 4 with double damage and low gravity on. I wanted to see how far worms would go with the baseball bat,so i hit one of the worms. He just kept flying and flying until he smashed down into the water. LOOOOL! :p
