I have been playing Worms 2 for a long time now...and it's currently the only Worms game I own. My question is, is it worth the extra $30 to upgrade to Worms World Party? Or is it not that much better? Also, I played the trial and noticed you cannot aim the rope strait down while jumping in the air! Is there a way to change that? Last question...how many new weapons have been added since Worms 2, and are the graphics any better?

$30
That's a bit much.
I suggest you get the triple pack which includes all 3 games W2, W:A and WWP for only 35$ including shipping to the USA.
https://secure.team17.com/browse.html?area=detail&skuid=75

W:A is also the game which is in the process of being patched at the moment with Deadcode's beta updates.
Here you'll find the best features that W:A now has and WWP doesn't:

you cannot aim the rope strait down while jumping in the air! Is there a way to change that?
No, this was only possible in W2. Not possible in W:A or WWP.
But there is an yet unreleased beta update from Deadcode where this will be possible again.
I have already played it btw.
how many new weapons have been added since Worms 2
W:A and WWP have exactly the same weapons & utilities. About 20 more than W2 has.
Though the weapons homing cluster, homing strike and cloned sheep have been removed and the sheep strike and the nuke have been improved.

You can use the tool "The Fiddler", a powerful external editor, to edit all the available and hidden weapons in W:A. (not online though)
That way you can get the W2 weapons back and even a few completely "new" ones like th wormstrike, Bible bomb or the gas canister.
are the graphics any better?
W:A and WWP also uses the same graphics in-game.
WWP has different menus, which are a bit more pixely and washed out, and many people argue they are too colorful and childish for a war game like Worms.

Both W:A and WWP have few improved in-game graphic effects, like Batman-style explosions "Boom!", "Poof!", "Zoom!".

My conclusion:
Get the triple pack. Otherwise get W:A only.

In a distant future the beta patches will merge W:A and WWP with all the features of both, bring back online ranking and even support the Fiddler.
Until that, I'd say that W:A is the better game, with some of the new features actually being more useful than WWP's mission editor or Wormpot modes.

Well, I bought WWP for €6.99, W2 for €7.99 and W:A for €9.99.

But $35.- for the Triple Pack (W2, W:A and WWP) including shipping to the USA is damn cheap.

But I LIKE the TryGames.com versions because you don't have to use the disc...I know there are no-game patches or whatever you call them but they are a pain because you need all these special tools...

Special tools? Like what; a CD-ROM drive? A brain?

UARGH!
Bad idea. If you have the Trymedia version of W:A, you won't be able to play online in 99% of all cases.

BTW, I play all my Worms games without the CD by using mounted CD images.
(Except W4M, which starforces me to use the original disc.)

And patching games is a piece of cake.
Especially since there are pages like www.nanacide.com/wahelp or forums like this.

When you get the newest patch all you have to do is double-click it...You need NO tools.
