hey all,
i had made a map, in freehandMX, but the game showed an error about the pallette, why is that????

can some one pls give me a link to a full detailed, map-making tutorial, with the technical details such as pallette and y sometimes the map is full of black dots....

i can use freehand, photoshop or corel

This isn't exactly detailed, but it does cover the basics: http://www.nanacide.com/wahelp/customisation-map.php

The trick with the palletes is pretty simple, really. There's only 112 colours [out of the 256 the game runs in] left for the actual map. Therefor that's the maximum number of colours the game will allow in a 1920×696 .PNG image that you'll want to use for a map. If you use more, it'll give you the pallet error.

I'd recommend using either 96 or even only 64 colours, though. That way the background of the map doesn't get discoloured or even unavailable.

If the background is not pute black (0,0,0) it will also give an error.

hmmmmmmm, I'm going to go investigate...

ok, i would like to edit my above statement.

If the palette does not contain black (0,0,0) it will cause an error.
