You can download a higher-quality MPEG, or even the actual program used to render that if you own a Radeon 9700 or up, here (http://www.ati.com/developer/demos/r9700.html).

It really reminds me of a similar thing they used to have on YTV some years back, in the first days of ReBoot and Beast Transformers, when CGI animation was the hot new rage. Unfortunately I can't seem to find that online anywhere.

Pipedream... always a classic.

For his 3rd Year project a mate of mine had to make a kind of copy of it in openGL that could play any midi file you threw at it. Didn't look as nice but it worked, was pretty cool.

I had a few cool video clips in about 1999, all were stamped with the word "Oddeysey" in the corner of the video. I've tried searching for them since, but turned up nothing. One was very similar to this (in fact i'd be surprised if the guy who made this hadn't seen the other one beforehand), and another showed the transformation of a planet into a lush populated environment, from a single seed landing on its barren beginnings. Man, i loved those vid clips.

This is the most delightful thing I have seen all day. It's enough to make me want to buy a Radeon.

...Nah. :p

I found them! Finally!
The one similar to Pipedream was by the same people - before they were Animusic, in 1989:

The second one was a music video for a song by Jan Hammer:

They are both an DVD's by Animation Trip, who used to be called Odyssey 3d (hence the watermark i remembered), who incidentally also compiled the Mind's Eye series, one of which was shown on Channel 4 in 1996 which i also loved, recorded on VHS, and lost long since.

They don't seem to ever have anything in stock, but having the titles now, i bought a couple of DVD's off eBay.

Oh my sweet raving lord. I was honestly wondering about this. More Bells and Whistles, as pointed out in the YouTube description, was on YTV all those years ago, and I saw it so many times I learned most of it by heart. Certain sections of Pipe Dream seemed so familiar that I wondered if they could possibly be the same people, and sure enough...

Wow. Biggest nostalgia rush ever.

Yeah, both of those videos were YTV Short Circuitz. That really brought back memories of being a Canadian child. :)

MonkeyforaHead, you're Canadian too? I didn't know that. Where do you live?

I'm new, and your "Location" doesn't indicate anything of the sort. I'm allowed to ask. Yes, I did check your profile for "Country" and read that you were Canadian. I wanted to know where in Canada you lived.

Your new avatar makes it quite hilariously obvious. I like it. :)
