This problem is a little trickey.
I've been mooching off my neighbor's unsecured WiFi because I wont have my own internet for a few months. I found out that my neighbors had some of their ports secured, particularly port 6999. Although I can play on WormNet, I can't host and sometimes get cut off. I also can't play halo online at all. I heard that I couldn't change this port from being secured from my house, only from theirs (since they are brodcasting the connection). Is this true? Is their no way to open this port? If it helps, I'm using a NetGear MA111 WiFi Adapter. Thanks!

ôô

I found out that my neighbors had some of their ports secured...

Good idea.

..., particularly port 6999.

You don´t need 6999 to host, so no problem.

Although I can play on WormNet...

This is good for having no internet, actually.

I heard that I couldn't change this port from being secured from my house, only from theirs (since they are brodcasting the connection). Is this true?

No.

Is their no way to open this port?

There is one: Talk to your neighbor.

Talking to them may sound easy, but 1st I don't exactly know who I'm mooching off of. I should probably track their IP, but I never really got around to it. 2nd, whoever it is would probably tear my head from my shoulders if they knew it was me sucking down their bandwith. I should have specified if there was any way to open these ports without them knowing. Thanks for at least replying though.

I tried WormNAT. It seemed like it would work, but it keeps getting hung up on port 1080. I run thru auto-configure, it brings up 1080, I try it, it fails and tells me to auto configure again. And I get 1080 again. and again. You would'nt happen to know whats wrong, would you? Thanks again.

Actually, never mind. I'm just gonna open a new thread about this.
