Can anybody help me please, I've been getting this error when trying to play Worms Armageddon, I've posted it on numerous Forums, and asked many people.. NOBODY at all has seemed to know what it means.. I've restarted my computer, reinstalled the game.. I've tried everything.. Here's a picture of the error; :(

If anybody can help me.. Then thanks. I knew this was the last possible place I could find that would know. I'm anxious to play. :(

Thanks again.

Is this Forum dead? Or do you guys not know? I guess I shouldn't have posted this here, nobody knows what to do, lol.

For heaven's sake, it's half past one on a Friday night! In the highly unlikely case that anyone replies at this time do you really think it'll be useful?

Give it more than half an hour, at a reasonable hour, and then everyone'll all post at once and tell you to provide more information because what we've got now it the world's most generic error box.

Ever heard of timezones? :)

It's 5 o'clock in the afternoon, great day out.. Besides.. 1:30AM isn't late for a Friday, if it was a Sunday or a Monday then I wouldn't blame you. :p

Be that as it may, you'll not get an answer out of this forum in half an hour at midnight GMT. It just won't happen. Not more than once in a blue moon, anyhow.

Panda, like Andrew said, it's a pretty generic error and it doesn't really tell us anything. Could you post your system specifications, and tell us exactly when this error occurs?

Indeed, its an english forum so must of us are in england ;)

1.30 isnt late on a friday, but its late to be both up AND in, those who are up will probably be somewhere other than a forum.

My question is: Are you are actually using the CD to play the game, or did you downloaded the game from somewheres?

Yah, I'm using the CD-ROM to play. :) Anyways, sorry about that guys.. I wasn't sure where the majority of the Forum was from.. I just wanna play some Worms! I'm desprite! :(

..Anyways, i'll explain my error; Alright, I downloaded the game.. The disk is in.. I double click the Icon, right. Then a black screen shows up - Not even a split second later and the error pops up.. It says what it says, of course, ( Picture above ) and I press 'ok'.. It does the same error about 4 times after pressing ok all 4 times.. Then it's back to my desktop.

- Like I said.. I've tried reinstalling the program, restarting my computer.. I was even tempted to reformate my computer. Anyways, thanks alot for all your time. :p

Hang on, hang on, you downloaded the game and put the disk in?

He probably means the patch.

Panda, sounds like it's having an issue creating a DirectDraw surface to me. I doubt it'll be your DirectX version or graphics driver as W:A is ooooold, but it may be worth updating both to the latest version just to make sure.

Other than that, it could be anything from having a certain conflicting video codec installed (DirectVobSub is known to cause problems, and this is included in codec packs such as Nimo and K-lite - you will have installed these yourself so if you don't know what i'm talking about, it's probably not that) or even possibly a hardware fault on one of your RAM modules or graphics card (unlikely).

If it isn't a hardware fault, a complete fresh Windows install may fix it, but that's a bit drastic. Other than this, i don't know what to suggest :(.

Isn't this in my faq? Let me check

http://www.nanacide.com/wahelp/faq.php

Edit: oh well it's not the exact same code, but maybe it's on to something regardless.

Follow the installation tutorial from the main wahelp page and you should be alright.

He probably means the patch.
Or he means he downloaded a CD image of the game.
(Yeah, I'm pessimistic.)

Well, thanks alot guys.. Since we're in different timezones I can't really be on when you guys are.. Unless I'm on at like 3AM, Pacific.

Anyways, about the download thing.. I got mixed up.. I ment to say I installed the game, restarted my computer, then put the disk in. :p

I'm going to try a few things you guys said, then I'll give some feedback. If all goes wrong I could just reformatt my computer, although I'll lose alot of crap, I wanna play Worms!!! Anyways, thanks again.

Okay, I toke your advice and I updated it to the latest up-to-date version.

- I have no error, BUT.. Now when I double click the Icon to play Worms Armageddon it gets a black screen, and simply goes back to my desktop. I've tried the /nointro thing after the Target slot, too.

Roarrr! :( I just wanna play Worms! :p
