View Full Version : Do you see the enthusiasm reduce?

Well look. Look at this section of the forum, it has started reducing. That's because the enthusiasm for Deadcode's next patch is. People have started realising that there never will be one, and they don't make any more suggestions, almost, because of that.
Sad but true :(

i'm not so sure, i see the patch coming, but i don't see it coming soon.
I should imagine that most of the suggestions have been exhausted already

I don't think there's a sequence of words left that nobody has posted as a suggestion yet. The last one was "Deckchair engender oscilloscope tray" and that was suggested about a month ago.

hmm, i'm not sure about the avarage life spand of a worm but i'm pretty sure none of my current teammembers is gonna see the next patch, maybe there grandchildren
I'm still here but I don't say much.

I stop in every few months to see how things are going. I remember coming across his proposed update in 2002 or 2003. Since then he's gone through several cycles of a year or more with no progress. Otherwise the current beta build is very stable, at least from how I've played w/ it in the past few months.

Sorry if this is considered a bump, but I thought I'd add a reply after my gone-time and this thread hasn't reached the second page yet.

Personally, I think Team17 should introduce a new 2D version of the game. While Armageddon is clearly the best in the series, it does need a breath of fresh air and some new features. Quite honestly, and perhaps brutally, I don't really see the merits of 3D (beyond the obvious asthetics).
Although I've been playing Mayhem quite a bit with my buddies, when it comes to single player I don't think you can beat the joys of the ninja rope and blow torches - for me there's so much more strategy involved in the 2D versions. In my opinion, the 3D games quickly become a question of who can fire the biggest gun most accurately - purely because it doesn't have the strategic depth of the earlier incarnations.
I'm sure this has all been mentioned before, but since I'm a (slightly unwelcome) newcomer to the forum I thought I'd chip in with my comments.
You are quite welcome to these forums by me. :) You seem very intelligent and analytical.

BTW guys about that spelling thing, we have hope. I'm suing the Firefox beta for the new one and so it comes with spell check on this thing, i just right click on a word for the suggestions :) magnificent.
correction ghost you are using a alpha version... the latest beta is 2.0b2... the latest alpha is 3.0a1 and gets updated pretty much nightly.
edit: my bad didnt know the beta also had the spell checker.
