what's the frame rate on a DS? I bought this game today and it has by far the WORST graphics I have ever seen on any game in my entire life. this is horrid. the animation is on par with what I'd expect from a 4-year-old with downs...

seriously, how are the graphics this horrid when other games look just fine?

well, what I saw was a worm going from a stand-still to being fully extended in a jump with nothing between the two frames. various other worm animations are on the same level of jumpiness. the animation is just bad. that's why I asked what the frame-rate is on the DS. I can't imagine it being that low, as I've played other games with good graphics, but then I can't imagine Team17 just being unable to make a DS game with even remotely passable graphics.

I don't know about this particular game, but the DS can do any of the following:
-2d (think snes or gba) graphics on both screens at 60 fps
-2d on one screen and 3d on one screen, 60 fps
-3d on both screens, 30 fps (the 3d hardware alternates updating screens)

Most games I've seen tend to do the 2d on at least one of the screens. A few of the minigames in super mario 64 ds do 30 fps.

Worms OW DS doesn't reach the limits of the DS hardware, it's just not coded all that well. It was developed by GameSauce and not team17.

So is it all nicey on PSP then? I just bought a brand new PSP and I've been thinking of buying W:OW for it...if the animation is bad on PSP as well, then it's not a framerate issue, at least.

The screenshots do look good for both systems.

The PSP version looks nice and is fine as far as coding goes, no major bugs like the DS version has. Both games are really lacking in customisability/options/levels and a little low on weapons in some peoples opinions.
