I have seen from the website that you can play Worms Armaggeddon without the the CD.

I am at the moment using Clone CD to make an image file and currently Reading from the CD and saving on the hard drive. So far it has taken 54 mins.
Does it take this long?
How long does it take?

Would I be able to update the WA on the hard drive to the latest version?

Many thanks:)

An hour isn't too drastic. It depends on the state the CD is in as well as the options you've picked for the task. Nothing wrong with that.

And you'll most definetley be able to update the game as the updates only change files on the hard drive [...\Team17\Worms Armageddon\ folder]. If you at any time desire to change the content of the CD, having an image is an advantage, even. Not that you'll have to.

Many thanks for that.

The Clone CD which I downloaded is a trial version.

Can I get the full version downloaded for free? Would I have to pay for this?
Is it worth having the Clone CD software?

Thanks :)

The trial version doesn't run out, I don't think... so you won't need the full version.

Hell I don't even know what the full version is good for.

Wow!
I need 10-15min to make a CD image of a 700MB disc (incl. sub-channel data).

Possible causes:
--Really scratched/dirty CD.
--Dirty or damaged CD drive.
--Messed up settings/drivers of the drive.

there is an option there to skip sectors, fast error skipping, but if your drive doesn't support it and your disc is a bit damaged that is also a p[ossible reason.

Bah! too many reasons

remember normal speed is dependant on: max read. drive speed and the write speed of your harddrive.

I think the trial clonecd version limits the speed to 1x (i.h. over an hour to rip a CD)

Hmmm no, my trial version only took twenty minutes. I have no idea why.

I have sorted out the problem. Found out that I chose the wrong drive settings. It has been installed now running nicely without the CD.

a way to complicated just use alcohol 120%,can all what your tool can and at the same time you can mount the images with it,up to 6 virtuell drives!

Well, the alphabet only has 26 letters. :)
A and B are reserved for floppy drives and with the minimum of one HDD and one CD drive it makes 22 possible virtual drives.

But frankly, I only need 1 virtual drive.
