View Full Version : W:A Crashes in WormNET Game

A friend of mine recently installed W:A on his Windows XP machine, patched it with the latest patch, and loaded it up just fine. However, when he goes to WormNET and joins any game, it crashes immediately to the desktop with one of those "Sorry for the inconvenience messages" from XP.

I honestly have no idea what's going on here. I've tried reinstalling it for him several times but it just keeps crashing. He has no other applications running when he loads it up (as the nanacide.com website suggested) so I'm not sure what's up.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks.

Check www.nanacide.com/wahelp for patching info.
Also check the FAQ section.

I went through that entire FAQ and the tutorial but still no go. It's the same problem. It crashes after joining a game on WormNET.

When you say "after joining a game".... you mean when you enter the host-join lobby screen?

Or when the actual game starts, after the Nuclear Pie loads?

It occurs when they join the host's lobby screen where they put their team in.

Odd.

Is it a legitimate version of WA?
Has he tried reinstalling?
What happens when he hosts instead?

It's the same copy of WA that I'm running which is just fine. It's an ISO of the original CD that I made.

He's tried reinstalling several times.

He can't host since he's behind a firewall, but I'll see if just loading the screen crashes it. I'll pass that by him next time I see him.

Which firewall is it? If it's WINDOWS firewall, ZoneAlarm, McAffe or Norton, go to nanacide.com/wahelp and click on "firewalls" to grant WA access!

EDIT: Oh, and by the way, it's not a good idea to talk about making CD images for a friend on the official forum! I'll pretend I didn't see that bit...

It's entirely possible that they both own a CD but one of them broke.
