same the tidele ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I thinki it is....
It depends.
IF you've got loads of friends with DS's and want something fun with multiplayer DL play, then yes
If you are desperate for a Handheld version of worms which is better than WWP GBA, then yes
If you have hardly any friends with DS's, then no
If you want to just randomly blow stuff up with crazy weapons, then no
If you don't like games with just the slightest of bugs, then no.
Short answer: no.
And i'm generally pro-Team17.

what bout the cellphone one:-/

I would be prepared to say that almost any version is better than the cellphone version. Mind you, I haven't played the cellphone version, nor the DS Worms.

The cellphone one is a one little-little-map based with a bazooka as the only weapon.
It's pretty boring, I can say. :p

No, there were more cellphone versions than that.

No........
I have Worms Forts 3D on my phone. It's quite entertaining once you accept that it's very slow, limited and easy. It's better with 2 players, though.
As for the DS version, I intend to get it when I get my DS. It's 2D for crying out loud. I love 2D Worms! Oh, and from what I gather it has game sharing, so that's a bonus.
How does it actually play, though?
Is the stylus well implemented?
Do you find yourself shifting from face buttons to stylus a lot?
Is the sound any good (music and effects)?
Does it feels like a Worms game should? (read: Is it W:A?)
Does the 4 player limit feel like it's too restrictive or would more players feel too crowded?
Ta.

1) It plays the best in HANDHELD yet in multiplayer, but in single player WWPGBA Outweighs it...
2) No - you use your finger!
3) No - you use your finger!
4) Music - Quite good, though no (if not very quiet) ingame ambience
5) SFX menu - get on your nerves. GAme - Yay! The squeak is back!
6) Single player - No. Multi-player: Medium
7) The latter one
2) No - you use your finger!

Do you find yourself switching from face buttons to Touch Screen a lot?
Not much, though occasionally
Cool. Switching frustrates me a bit and I end up jabbing face buttons with the stylus to save time and effort :P

If you have hardly any friends with DS's, then noTurn-based. Many players on one DS.

go to ebay.com and search worms open warfare... you will see alot of them all saying "barely played its just like brand new!!" thats because once they played it the first thing they wanted was there money back
almost every major webite that reviewed this game (both versions) felt that the PSP version is better.
apparently, the PSP version has better AI, bugs occur less frequently, physics are better, graphics are MUCH better (based on screenshots).
i also heard rumors that the DS version doesnt actually have randomly generated maps; is this true? i think thats what gamespot said; but i may have misread it.

the downsides of W:OW for the DS is that the graphics are horribly buggy, and a couple weapons act retarded. the grenade, for example, will bounce logically once or twice, and then will propel itsself in some random direction with great speed for no reason just before exploding harmlessly. the graphic bugs consist of frames obviously being taken out of animations tot he point that it looks unnatural and jumpy as hell. the game is a decent worms game, but the few bugs present take a LOT from it.

You can play randomly generated maps or you can type a number and it generates the map based on that seed. It doesn't have any premade maps.

That isn't randomly generated then, is it? Those maps are already generated and are simply bound to a seed number. You can't just click through maps you don't like until you get one you do, like you can in W:A.
All the maps bound to a seed are premade. There are no rendomly generated maps.

It's as random as anything else -- the DS, the PSP, your PC, Macs, anything you like -- they're just not capable of generating even a single random bit, at least, not on purpose. Pentiums do it sometimes by mistake.
It's not "pre-made", though, either -- because the DS makes it based on a seed. It's generated -- all the so-called "random" maps are are generated ones where the seed is based on a timer routine rather than user input. If you had ten billion premade maps instead of an algorithm to generate them, that would amount to the same thing, yes, but it isn't actually the same thing.

Think of it as a compression algorithm.
*thinks of it as a compressing algyrhythm*
You mean like an Electroplankton MP3?
*asplodes*
You would think with the DS's touch screen you could draw your own terrain.
Not sure if im going to buy this one. Not that I can even find it anywhere here. :p
